  • Bee Gees - A great group of my old times. Why are they neglected?

I think Selena Quintanilla Perez by.

  • the Bee Gee's according to Barry in interview said that the BeeGee's, could not have released an album, because they were in enormous legal problems with their record company and management. So they concentrated on writing for other artists, and did a film soundtrack. 1987 was the album release from when they were free as a group.

  • Great demo ..RU kidding me..its Album or Cd ready..I think it was brilliat to farm it out to other Artist after the stigma of being a disco artist hit!

  • Sorry to hear about your Grandad concam,he had a very nice song to send him on his way.Kind regards.Dx

  • this was played at my grandads funeral R.I.P

  • hi concam28 :-)

Do your grandad look like Kenny Rogers? Thank you for the comment!!

  • Que música, espero vêlos tocar no Brasil

  • @honeybabe2007 A BIT LIKE HIM BUT HE THOUGHT HE LOOKED LEKE BRUCE WILLICE

  • @concam28 yeah John McClane!!

  • Hi honeybebe,I forgot to ask your opinion of the BEE GEES In Our Own Time Blu-ray/DVD.What did you think?

  • hi grdixon83 :-)

Interview video is interesting, but Live video and TV broadcasting already had seen :-)

  • this is brilliant

  • hi rastafarievers :-)

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • Some of the best songwriters ever.

  • hi Iann802 :-)

I want to drive the autobahn....

    I owned BMW318iA for 14 years though it's a bytalk :-)

  • @honeybabe2007 this is great-I like this as much as Dolly and Kenny-makes me so sick that Mo is gone-so young!

  • @vickilovesboxers actually-it's better than D and K

  • @vickilovesboxers Thank you for high appraisal!!

  • hi Iann802 :-)

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • Love this - although Kenny and Dolly did the song justice, I like this one better. Too much overproduction and 'auto tune' in todays music. If you have to use auto tune then you can't sing......

  • 1000x better than the Kenny /Dolly version.

  • @cbr1100xxrules :-) :-) :-)

  • @cbr1100xxrules

The Bee Gees is the best all over the world any time. I listen only bee gees songs, i forgot other singers. Sorry but i have to reply for your comment every one has their favorites and i think its not good to write like this comment...again sorry..

  • This is so much better than the over-produced studio version that later appeared.

  • hi ruinawish :-)

I agree to your opinion, thank you for favorited!!

  • Love u Barry! Such a great song. The Gibbs are the best!

  • Check the version by Grupo Wer - fantastic.

  • hi taxman9922 :-)

Original single by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, July 1983. album cut by Kenny Rogers, 1983.

And the Bee Gees didn't release the single. Because it was a tune that Gibbs written, this title was written as Bee Gees (group name).

  • What was DIANA ROSS thinking? REJECTING this song! Ross being a DIVA Lol.

  • Wonderful video and song...very nice

all stars for you my friend*****

  • hi popivazaiou :-)

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • Hey! Where exactly did you get this? Is it released out on CD yet?

  • @yizhan123 It was available (as a download), but no longer. Barry put out an album called "The Eyes That See In The Dark Demos", exclusive to iTunes. This was included.

  • Does anyone have an idea how I can make this into an audio file?

  • COOL!!

    GREAT SONG!!

  • I wholeheartedly agree,

I believe, at the time of its release, Barry, Maurice and Robin figured they would BANK MORE if Kenny and Dolly didit first, they could do it to death later if they wanted.

  • hi mt77040 :-)

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • I prefer the Bee Gees performing this song over Rogers and Parton.

  • hi FatBoySlim696 :-)

  • Sou fã dos Beegees e do Kenny Rogers e olha que nem sao de minha epoca eu tinha uns 10 anos qdo os ouvia.

  • hi lucya168 :-)

    Obrigado por comentario!!

  • There wasn't one of the Bee Gees songs I didn't like, the songs they wrote for others and their disco...........they are truely one of the top singing acts of all times... I have loved them since I heard them back when I was a little girl of 8 yesterday I turned 52....

  • They have always been true to themselves but also managed to re-invent themselves again and again, they were setting trends and always remained outstanding. The Bee Gees are a phenomenon to this day. They have made uncountable hits and yet it is a pity they stopped after Maurice died (as far as I know). I did not like their disco time very much but nevertheless there are songs from this period which I like. Thanks honeybabe2007 for posting so many of their songs.

  • hi atrotroa :-)

Thank you for the comment, Danke schön!!

  • class song

  • Rated on pure talent, the Bee Gees are the greatest pop singers/creators ever. By a long way...

  • Bee Gees - Islands In The Stream (Demo)

  • hi Dido :-)

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • This is a much more of a romatic version and I simply love it, minus the bass solo! Thanks honeybabe as always!

  • hi Robert :-)

    Thank you for favorited again!!

  • These boys couldn't write a bad song if their life depended upon it.

  • @MingnonDunn Barry Gibb is a poetical song writer. Most songwriters write two verses, a chorus and thats it. Barry Gibb does so much more with heartfelt lyrics, that tells a story. Every song is full of great riffs and great sound, the production is always flawless too. I always love the demos the did of songs they gave away.

  • SO MANY INTELLIGENT COMMENTS on this site. a bunch of M.I.T.-bound geniuses-in-the-making if i dare say!!

  • hi 410missmonkeyful :-)

Thank you for the comment :D

  • kinda missed the key change in Kenny and Dolly's version but I understand this was a demo of the song. It's a great song and I enjoy performing it karaoke style with my friend Oriane .. thanks to honeybabe for allowing us to connect -Steve Solo

  • hi Steve :-)

I also sometimes sing this song by karaoke. but it's a double role :-)

  • barry has a such nice voice, it would have been better that they didn't write it for kenny and dolly.

  • @hollywoodswinging79 Dolly has big boobies XXXXXX

  • @sexyrexysexy she is so plastic, gross

  • @hollywoodswinging79 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • great

  • hi karla :-)

  • hi Daryl :-)

    Thank you for favorited!!

  • The is amazing!! Thanks so much for uploading this!

  • hi mooky9669 :-)

    Your welcome!!

  • The Bee Gees were a perpetual hit machine. When they wrote what they knew was a hit song but not suited exactly for them they knew who to send it to. Brilliance wouldn't even begin to describe them.

  • hi drdent7 :-)

The Bee Gees original albums didn't become a hit in 1981-1983. However, the songs includes this song and I love those.

Thank you for the comment :D

  • @drdent7

sometimes they knew who to send it to as this song was written for Diana Ross who foolishly and thankfully rejected it so it went to Kenny and he suggested Dolly not the bee gees.

  • @ascotsmaninusa Diana is great bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As is Dolly! xx Would have been great to hear Diana sing it xxx You're just jealous of her hair xxxx

  • hi tigerfan1984 :-)

    Your very welcome!!

  • ME ENCANTA

  • BEAUTIFUL!! One of my favorites!

  • Totally playing the air drums with this one. Loved it as a kid. Nostalgia FTW.

  • hi 緑道ぴーたー :-)

Makin' love with each other, ah-ah

    LOL

    Great song with great people

  • hi khalidEljarushi :-)

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • Ur welcome honey babe 2007

  • Ich glaube, die Bee Gees sind wirklich die größten Songwriter aller Zeiten.

  • hi Yps2a2b :-)

und die Bee Gees ist Unsterblichkeit!!

  • First; Barry Robin and Maurice Gibb or BEEGEES are the greatest songwriters/perfomers/producers/ ever in yesterdays and todays popular music ! (this combination).

George Martin is the succesfullest chart producer of all time, Barry Gibb is second !! but first as songwriter/producer !!

So what are we talking about here?

Their music for kenny is awesome !!

  • I always wondered how the Bee Gees would have sounded singing this, now I know! Thanks a mil.

  • lol

  • Nelsonshat I must bow to you superior literacy skills, In other words what the hell does that mean????

  • Peacepoet is a quisling.

  • wow

  • The song was originally written for Diana Ross' Chain Reaction album by The BeeGees..

  • boy the internet is very educational. i heard this version a long long time ago and i thought it was a redo of dolly and kenny. didnt know it was original. this is cool and good history because this is a good song.

  • wow. what a crazy history this song has! beegees to dolly/kenny to ghetto superstar? disco/country/hiphop! a great song is a great song regardless of the genre! thanks for posting!

  • hi b-rock :-)

    Your very welcome!!

  • Kenny Rogers was born with white hair and beard. I saw him on the freeway once, i was smoking a joint listening to music, with coffee and I saw him cruising parralel to me in a green cadi.

  • Why are so many people obsessed with the word "disco"? Music is music and the Bee Gees wrote in many different genres. From their earliest days in the 60s they always dabbled in country alongside pop, rock and soul. By the mid 70s they added R&B to their sound. But why say that this was somehow a disco song? This has nothing to do with disco other than the fact the guys who wrote it happened to be the biggest act of the 70s and excelled in that genre.

  • hi JalanRumpai :-)

    I agree to your opinion.

There are many people who are still obsessed to "disco" in the world. It's shown certainly more lightly than the sounds of R&B or Soul.

Just Bee Gees was corresponding and the music scene in the world at that time was corresponding to the road of disco music by chance.

  • Well said!

  • Sadly that's what they are remembered for the most. They are legends both as song writers and performers, who cross ages, genres and sounds.

  • One of the best pop-country songs ever written by the Gibb Brothers. Congratulations to these creative brothers. Needless to say, I was grown up with their music during the late seventies, early eighties.

  • hi YANNIS :-)

I also exactly listen to the music of that time and I was grown up.

    Thank you for favorited!!

  • why dont u give it a rest peacepoet, u have taken up pages and pages

  • @GeorgiiiiRaWK HE JUST LIKES TO RAMBLE SHIT XXX

  • Why cant people just get on?

  • Peacepoet *Contentious

  • Peacepoet * Condescending

  • Peacepoet Your'e*

  • It looks like you are getting the thumbs down from the people who come here merely for the music. Not to see your constant poor grammar and puerile ramblings about a band that you admit to not having certain albums! Some fan you you are, now drift back to your mild bondage and flower arranging classes!

  • *your'e peacepoet

  • Peacepoet, not only are you boring and vacuous, you are a liar! show me where I stuck up for this person, because I did not. What I did say is that I noticed you arguing with another person, as per usual, get your facts right, you moron, and anyone that cannot spell "heard" needs further education, why dont you admit that you are a vacant imbecile!

  • Why cant you admit you were in the wrong its clear as day on I started a joke. You said you saw me having a pop at someone, That someone called Robin a pedo. Admit you were wrong and then we can move and as for lying On your profile you are 29 but claim to remember when several early Bee gees songs came out. So I say your the liar.

  • @slugman2000

    SPAM!

  • @cmulwee001 =parochial servile ass fairy!

  • If anybody wants to have a look they can see clearly on I started a joke that Slugman2000 is sticking up in a earlier comment for a guy who has called robin a pedo. Well they say the devil looks after his own.

  • Peacepoet, I do not care what you think, you are a village idiot who struggles with simple English. You hang around here like a spider in a web, when you should be using this time to educate yourself. I have seen the Bee Gees many times live, I have every album and most singles too, I actually play and sing their songs, you are just a dim wannabe, now how does fuck off grab you, simple tosser.

  • I dont need any further education. I have already learned not to stick up for people who call innocent great performers like Robin a pedo. I sugest you need to eat a huge slice of humble pie and admit what you just did.

  • Also let me assure you I have read through many of your comments on other pages and I find you intolerant of others views. And also you have a bullying and patronising way about you. I will not be speaking to you any further as I find you a vexation to the spirit. Goodbye.

  • Slugman2000 I put it to you that it is you and not I who is the dim wannabe. You claim that you actually play and sing their songs well whoopee. While I am proud to be influenced by the Bee gees and many other acts I write and perform my own songs. Your in a tribute band I perform my own songs. Who is the wannabe? You do the maths.

  • You are just a contentious person.

  • Nevermind hiding behind one of the 6 big words that you know, can you explain why you was sticking up for someone who called Robin a pedo?

  • Peacepoet, I saw you having a pop at another person about wisecracks, what is your problem, is it my fault you are a simpleton that cannot spell ? Act you age and not your shoe size you dim halfwit!

  • Mate the guy your defending called robin a pedo go and check the page again unless its been removed.

  • Infact Slugman2000 By your comment you have showed your true colours sticking up for someone who has been nasty towards this great group. Your the half wit and your the simpleton. You claim to be clever but you show no inter personal skills and have no perception whatsoever. I love the bee gees but I do not have anymore time for you or you alter egos.

  • Love this version....

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Theres some right idiots on this page. Instead of pointing out errors and revelling in other peoples mistakes, Why dont you speak about either this song or the bee gees? I cant believe there is four of you all the same. If you know anything about music lets hear it, and I still think your all one person.

  • Peacepoet heard*

  • slugman2000 Yawn

  • There are so many great versions of this song, but I don't recall hearing a fully produced Bee Gees studio version. Does on exist? The Bee Gees did a version of their greatest hits with Robin only, but I want to hear all of them also!

  • Im sure i have herd a version with maurice singing lead also.

  • Peacepoet * blatantly

  • Check again I have spelt blatantly correctly. lol. But anyway can anyone please think of a interesting debate we can have on music rather than punctuation.

  • Just being facetious lol

  • *PS

  • correspondence*

  • Im glad we are getting on better now. However come on you and the other three or four, who im beginning to think are one person accused me of causing trouble. And then blatantly you try and stir 1alexoswald up when all he was doing was trying to be nice. Ps please refrain from pointing out any spelling mistakes I have made.

  • By the way friends, I thought we were a forum, a contact group, perhaps even a community. Please don't slag off another correspondent because of spelling or grammar. You're just polluting another guy's space.

  • I couldnt agree more. By the way the three groups you mention are my three favourite groups. I think they are all great. I try to open myself up to as much great music as possible. And The Bee Gees, The Beach Boys , and the Beatles have all made great music.

  • So you remember it too ! I think that effectively put the tin lid on that phase of Clive's career.

  • As a yongster I got into the Beatles, then the Beach Boys but the BGees were different. Remember them on Clive Anderson when basically they said "they'd nothing to prove" too true. Great Every Time!

  • dolly parton an kenny rogers is beter

  • I love both versions. Its just a great song written by great song writers. Im soooooo into the first of may at the moment. Such a great song and they were so young when they wrote it.

  • Great songs. the Bee Gees truly are the gods of music.

  • It comes from Main Course, released in 1975.

  • Comment removed

  • great*

  • Oddessa is a great album, some real gems, Never Say Never,Laugh In Your Face,Black Diamond, 1st Of May, brilliant album. Spirits Having Flown is a graet album, you should be able to pick that up for about £7.00

  • Yes I love all the ones you have mentioned and also You will never see my face again which I think is the second track. I also love Trafalgar. do you know which album Wind of Change is on. I love that song?

  • Peacepoet, I would never claim to be more educated than you, people are people, and depth of the soul is far more important than education. You seem like a really nice person, are you English too?
