  • loved the first season, the only downpoint is this fuckable china chow...great for porn, bad for this show !

  • @JewfaceShiller Ever watch the movie Basquiat? Remember that restauranteur who kicks Rene Ricard out of his restaurant because he insults Warhol and Bischofberger, and rips a Basquiat drawing out of his sketchbook? China is that restauranteur's daughter. You're spot on about rich celebrities giving their kids dumb names and all, but really, China is like, a big figure in the hip-bourgeoise fine art world.

  • Peregrine had to be ther most oddly interesting person on the show, right down to her unusual yet unique name. Too bad she didn't win. =\

  • but there is America Ferrara and India Benet , and I am sure you already know Dakota Fanning.

Yes France is an actual name , my auntie's name is France ( we are French ). It is fairly normal over here. France Castel is a canadian TV presenter.

  • 2:43 Bill interrupts China like it's no one's business. Geez, what a jerk right off the bat. Not gentlemanly at all. Tsk tsk~

  • China Chow lmao as if nobody could tell shes a chink

  • @teddilo She's a very wealthy and powerful chink...

  • Is there going to be a season 2?

  • I always thought of conveying emotion as a skill in itself.

  • this has got to be one of the worst things television has brought us and onto itself. there are so many wrong things with this that i don't even know how to begin. if my utter lack of respect for new "artists" and the "art" that's made now wasn't enough, this self-parody comes along. if, in these times, you label yourself an "artist" and that you "make art" and that your "art" is transcendent and/or important, then you're certainly a pathetic person. just as the crowd portraid on the show.

  • @0casteloencantado0 while i agree with you that this show is a blob of crap...Your assertion that being an artist levels you down to a pathetic person is however untrue and completely ignorant. You may not realize it now....but Art is highly important. The commentary that artists create through their work not only invokes thought from the greater society allowing people to open their eyes to problematic situations...but it also allows for a visual historical record to be built. Educate yourself

  • la triste realidad ... reality jejeje ..bueno depende del punto de vista

  • Who ever thinks a true artist will never want to be arpart of this reality needs to evolve their mind a little. Advertising is advertising, I am a true artist and I want to be apart of this show. Show me your work and I will show you mine. Lets see who the true artist is.

  • I wish I knew the casting for season 2 opened back up before today. Anyway if you want to see some delicious artwork search Roy Sproule on YouTube.

  • I for one find the ironic juxtaposition between the art world and reality tv an artwork gag in itself worth keeping an eye on. Banksy would be brofisting Duchamp over this new development through a portal to Heaven he spraypainted on the ruins of the Berlin Wall. And Dali would probably tune in every week, I see it as less the decay of art and more the realising of a pretty decent reality tv/art world joke.

  • wish season 2 would start already!

  • I think that people are jalous of the show and are jalous because art is hard for the people who are simply not good.

  • @TheMathieuarts And I think you are a simpleton who thinks that anyone who has a less than flattering opinion of anyone else is automatically jealous.

  • @pixieben

I'm sorry but that's bullshit. By your logic Andy Warhol would not be a great artist because he would have jumped at the chance for this type of exposure. Wanting to be seen and heard by the world doesn't make you any less of an artist.

  • Quit commenting on the personality of the artists. Comment on the work. Hate to break it to you: many of history's greats (in every area of the arts) were pigs. Dickens was a wife-beater. Wagner was a Jew-hater. Picasso a womanizer. Etc. Comment on the art. Why Miles all the way? Why? For what? Any valid reason pertaining to his work? He talks up a storm, talks a good game. Leave the explanations at home and show your work. If your work doesn't cut it on its own, leave the work at home too.

  • @Shaojian To go against your whole post, I started watching from ep3 and immediately disliked Miles and the tortured artist schtick. I mean, seriously? "Oh! I rode in a car through New York and now I'm traumatized! I think I'll have a nap." My biggest laugh of the whole season was when Ryan called Miles a "big douchebag". I'm not an artsy type, so I don't know why the judges kept getting moist from his work. :-) I still liked the show though.

  • @Squishyfur Exactly. Though Miles's process MAY have been SOMEWHAT intriguing to watch, the resulting work was bullshit pure and simple. That's what he is. A bullshit artist, in every sense. He intellectualizes to cover up the soullessness of his work (which the judges later came around to seeing).

I'm glad you're not the artsy type. Artsy types are typically posers and douchebags. I'm starting to believe the art of the future has to come from non-artsies.

  • @Shaojian Yaayy Picasso!! :-)

  • The last thing we need are more jewish people who think they are judges when they use each other to place themselves as "experts." America is sick of these fascists pieces of sh*t!!!! If I never hear from another schultz or greenberg again it will be too soon. Enough with the bloody jews already, we all know jews own the media, its a slap in the face to have them force fed down your throat constantly in media. Go to h*ll or better yet go to israel!!!

  • @Jewssuppresstruth You might have something there. It was probably the fraction of Hitler's blood that was Jewish that made him do all that stuff. It's all so clear now......

  • This show is pathetic. My wife did her undergrad in English and Art History but after watching this absolute mindless shit she almost tried to white out the Art History part from her diploma and burn the hundreds of books we have on REAL art. If you like this and think it is real art you should A/ be fucking ashamed of yourself, and B/ get off your ass and go to a REAL art gallary and see something made by people that don't whore out what little talent they have.

  • Yes real, artist and great artist want to change the world, and if your work of art is seen a lot you cant anything else than like it and be proud.

  • Miles is a douchebag. And I love it.

  • Miles is such a dick, hate him. Erik and Abdi were the best. I'm glad Abdi won :D

  • Boobs + Really hot body + Mediocre art + Really nice boobs = Jaclyn Santos

  • they didnt show my man, abdi!!! wooo hooo hes so hot were gonna get married and own an art studio together. <3

  • @joyariffic I am glad he won, though on this task I kind of liked Peregreene's work a little more. Abdi has strong academic skills, and hia advantage IMO is that he channels contempory issues in his work be it pop, cliches, death etc. He deserved the money. He has a very good persona too.it swayed the judges.

  • @cannoir yeah i agree, and i love his personality

  • I saw a moment of this show on television and this show is pathetic. The judges have an ultra high level of over confidence and arrogance as well. Not to mention how everyone argued over insignificant shit. I'm no fan of television, but this show reduced television to an even more pathetic level. There is a reason that there are 7 thumbs down any only 13 thumbs up. very stupid show!

  • Miles seems the most authentic out of all of them. I hope he doesn't have emotional break down of some sort.

  • Wow, love the stereotype at 1:54 - the judges are "naturally" articulate. Artists on the other hand lack the basic intelligence to be able to describe their own work.

When is this old artworld myth going to die?

  • that's true,I tell you what most artists myself included we have a good grasp of literature, typography, composition and all the sweet lingo that goes with it.You gotta be able to explain your thought process, your influences etc..you see language manipulation is like packaging. Its like being nicely dressed and the artwork is your suitcase filled with gold.

  • I want to Chow down on China's coochie.

  • All these "talent" shows that are saturating the media are irksome, and this one seems particularly so. Artists all over the world bust their butts everyday trying to make a living and now the benevloent tv gods are going to make one lucky lil artsy duck's dream's come true all in the hopes of showing some overly dramatized divial to an audience that will generally know about as much about art as they do about the political atmosphere of any country outside of America. Bit of a mockery really.

  • miles if you're reading this you're super lucky you didnt go home cause you deserve to eric is a great artist and you didnt give him a chance.

  • wont be long before the annoying 16 yr old girls come ruin this

    they ruined lady gaga

they ruined American Best dance crew

    and Chelsea lately

if your a 16 yr old girl reading this, you are NOT an expert on life and yes you are dumb and naive. oh and you are not ahead on treads bitch

  • miles is annoying as hell...really kills me lol. I wish he had a really good personality so I could back him on the show, but that whole tortured soul thing is killing me-get over yourself...so I would have to say my favorite is Abdi good work, good personality, good to back up lol. Yeah they are kind of selling themselves but who isn't these days. Amazing artist go on American idol and no one calls them a sell out...ppl gotta make money.

  • True artists WOULD want to be a part of this show. Attention = promotion, especially for artists who are business owners.

  • Honestly I really hate the judges , Art is so subjective , but of course they just know what is good and what isn't. The judges are all pretentious want to bes . It figures the biggest actors on the show completely snow them and are heaped praise from other fakes.

  • god, jaclyn is annoying

  • @alic6453

    Amen!

  • 1 girl who is obsessed with taking her clothes off (Jaclyn)

1 guy who's obsessed with Photoshop (Mark)

1 guy obsessed with the things household moms would be scared of (Ryan)

    1 gay guy

1 guy trying to get attention by sleeping everywhere/bashing on people/ and showing off (Miles)

1 guy obsessed with starting his art by making a human figure (Abdi)

1 girl obsessed with weird things (Nao)

1 old woman who doesnt care for challenges that dont reflect her (Judith)

  • @Mythlover133 nicole is the only sane one

  • what the fuck is this show.............holy shit the artworld couldn't really get any worse than this: a fucking media circus just like the turner prize in England. the suckers are the artists who need validation from a panel of judges who know fuck all about making art. What a crock shit.

  • Go Mark!!! : )

  • real artists will never need a reality show to become famous. It's no power or soul.

  • MARK SHOULD WIN!!!! :)

  • Diverse? BS. They're all young. What about we older artists?

  • @pfeld nope. judith is old

  • Quickly done art for television.......somebody pleasee remind me to take my university diploma in Art History and burn it as with this show comming out, by Sarah Jessica Parker of all things, makes real art nothing but a commodity.

Next I will start buying albums by the scmucks from American Idol. Pathetic.

  • Sorry to say, but viewing art on a monitor/digitally is almost incomparable to viewing/experiencing it in person. For example, a person needs to see Sam Jinks' hyper-realist and larger-than-life sculptures in person in order to physically feel the immensity of each of them in proportion to everything else.

I find it kind of weird that the judge in the pink shirt claims the exact opposite though... makes me question the legitimacy of the judge's decisions.

  • artists are whoever they want to be...they don't have to be neurotic or insane to be considered an artist, let the art express itself

  • miles is cute

  • This is sooo stupid. although possibly entertaining

  • I love this show. Finally, artists are given the stage to be discovered.

  • miles mendenhall all the way!

  • @shialover777 I hate that fake

  • @googoobh trust me, by the last few episodes i hated him too! i wrote this after the first episode..so my feelings have changed

  • @shialover777 Noted and excepted ... at the very first I believed his crap as well. It is fakes like that , that help to cover up any true talent.

  • @shialover777 fuck him

  • @ramitillo yeah, i dont like him so much anymore..at all

  • cant believe jerry saltz is there. i dont think he'll be there next season

  • These are shiny, polished, camera friendly "Artists". Not the neurotic, semi sane, often drug addicted wackos that are commonly seen in Art Colleges and Galleries all across this country. Watch my video called Downfall of Modern Art (you'll see what I'm talking about). tee hee

  • @ylwapple45 if you watch this show i bet you will think miles mendenhall is slightly neurotic haha. he is the best part!

  • The f about art being more easily conveyed on tv than the other shows...

  • true artists will never wanna be part of this reality show, it's too much attention.

  • @pixieben what is a "true artist" and why wouldn't they want attention. I consider myself a true professional artist and I spend great amounts of energy trying to draw attention to my work. I need to make a living at art, and I do, but I need that to continue and that's only going to happen if people know who I am.

  • @jagjava I totally agree.

Okay, so is anyone else bothered that Jaclyn is always taking her clothes off? And yet she says she's shy? Hmm. Anyway, I'm addicted to this show. I wish I'd have such an opportunity. I'm right now in between majoring in English/Literature or instead pursuing art, going to art school. Tough decision.

  • @jagjava I understand what your saying , but many great artists loved the lime-light , Warhol , Dolli , Picasso , Michelangelo , and Di vinci to name just a few , But I agree this is fast food art. It sucks that to do what you love and make it a living , you have to pander to all the other bullshit.

  • @pixieben

Not to mention the uptight judges and retarded challenges take away all the enjoyment out of art and turn it into a stressful chore.

  • @pixieben dont wanna be crass or whatnot, but isn't exposure good? i don't approve of the show necessarily, but as artists tend to have a hard enough time finding buyers and patrons, this may actually be a good thing, even if it is for a select few individuals.

  • @pixieben Not a single person alive can tell you what is real art and what isnt (also who is a real artist and who isnt). I think they aren't all that telented but they are artists nonetheless. To say that a real artist would never do this because it is "to much attention" is just silly. Most artists want exposure. Hell, Dali was a whore...He did anything for money and attention and I bet you wouldn't say he isn't a real artist. I do agree that the show is ridiculous though. haha

  • @Pierce Tru dat my friend.Dali was a media ho.he is the epythome of shameless promotion.that's why we know everything about him today.at least half of those artists will get the experience of getting work commissioned instead of begging for exposure in the local galleries like most of us do.Typically a lot of gallery owners love winning formulas.

  • @pixieben unless they want attention, who are you to say true artists shouldn't want attention? you are pretentious.

  • @pixieben really?

  • @pixieben So who says artist doesn't want attention? that seems to be totally against their way of living. Is this "true" artist you talk about some kind of above-all-things-smug? They are certainly a common sight, but true artists should be just like rest of us and no better.

  • @pixieben Attention is exactly what a true artist needs to have his artwork known and be succesful! I see nothing wrong with this reality show. It would be an honor for any artist to be on this show.

  • XD i knida want to see this show

  • chow looks real pleased to be nestled in power's pit.

  • LOL what a bunch of idiots. "Artists" my ass.
