My daughter has stayed on ward 10 on a few occasions- it's the best ward in the entire hospital in my opinion. She will most likely have to have an operation at some point to fix her heart. it would be awful for every family who uses this unit if they closed it down. it's vital for saving the lives of our children.
I am sure that all parents are enternally grateful to the hospitals that perform life saving operations. I know we are. Our son was 16 weeks old when he had his heart op
Yes, the treatment and care was second to none, for him and for us. I dont want LGI to stay open because it was where he had his op, I want it to stay open because it covers such a wide area and so many more people than the alternatives. It is the most sensible choice and the one that will ease the process for many others
My son had major surgery at just 2 weeks old. All the staff on ward 10 and on PCICU ward 4 are absolutely amazing. The quality of care my son recieved was brilliant and it saved his life. Leeds is ideally located, has excellent transport links, and is only around a 2 hour drive from East and west coast. If the unit was to close, i think+ that the government would be putting the lives of hunderds of children at risk every year, and for this alone, needs to stay OPEN.
My daughter had major surgery at LGI at 9 months old. The staff on Ward 10 and ICU Ward 4 were brilliant. Their professionalism and quality of care saved my babys life and for that I am forever grateful.
I can not imagine the prospect of other parents having to travel across the country for surgery, it is a tough enough time as it is without the extra hurdle of being so far from home.
Leeds isideally located in the England with 2hrs to the coast East or West, and 4hrs to the South or North.
Our son had Open heart surgery here at 6 days old.. operated on by mr watterson. We will forever be in their debt!!
