  • I know Tony Iommi used one and there is no denying it helped produce his signature sound. Ever tried to play Iron Man and it just never quite sounds just the way it should?

  • FOR GOD'S SAKE. CLAPTON NEVER, EVER USED A RANGEMASTER. HE HAS STATED THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. PLUG A LES PAUL INTO A MARSHALL JTM CRANK IT AND RUN. THE SOUND IS ALL THERE. THIS IS THE BIGGEST MYTH GOING.

  • @chooseyourblues I agree! The Beano LP just does not have the honk you get with a rangemaster.

  • @swampbuoy Then Hendrix showed up and he didn't have a choice.

  • This is a treble booster, not an overdrive. Something you can't tell from this reprehensible video.

  • @Tumenihobbies yeah but when you boost the input of a tube amp what do you get?

  • Why did JMI let this moron test all their pedals? He's a crappy guitar player and does a terrible job selling these pedal's. These video's suck!

  • Is there a slapback delay somewhere or am I just hearing things?

  • @stul9045

I hear it too. Pretty sure it's natural from whatever room they're in - probably box-shaped w/ the parallel walls bouncing everything around~shrug~

  • @yobhsiFehT

    ... or we're BOTH just hearing things:P:)

  • @stul9045 ya, you're not hearing things! I hear it too. The other dude's probably right -- the walls.

  • JMI amp =|

    *collector drool*

  • the demo is set with delay at high speed??? or I'm wrong...?

  • Sunshine of your love.

  • Which songs does Eric Clapton use a Rangemaster on?

  • @ureadmymind - None. He never used a Rangemaster. That's the biggest myth going...

  • @MilkyLicker3587 there is a couple of pictures of him besides his amp with one on top of it.. ??

  • @goerge4 - No there aren't.

  • @goerge4 I have a 1967 Hit Parader magazine interview with Clapton, where he states that he does NOT use pedals to get his sound.

When you plug a humbucker equipped guitar into a Marshall, you can easily achieve overdrive without a boost pedal.

  • @MilkyLicker3587

    True...

  • Certain upper mids go right for the tubes... meaning the encourage distortion right away. That's why all those 60s guys used rangemasters, they wanted MORE TUBE DISTORTION... this "range" of frequency got them to it very quickly. Sure it's "supposed to be clean"... but it is tuned just right to create mayhem in the tubes. Remember kids; this only works if it's LOUD!!!

  • Very very good !!!! Rory Gallagher spirit !

  • Turn of delay, and make another demo...

  • @Stephan

    You are right

The sound you hear seams to come from the overdriven amp, not from the booster. The booster is supposed to, just what is says, be clean and no more than a lineair amp

  • I thought it was a treble booster not a fuzz pedal?

  • @StefanPriceUK someone need to do some more reading on fuzz v.s. booster pedals

  • why do these guys love the word iconic

  • NICE AMP !!!!!!
