  • IMJ.... Classic cut like this and so many are talking about who sampled this the best. People PLEASE remember that, at one time, this was the stuff on OUR radio. All those who sampled this wouldn't couldn't have had the inspiration to do what they did if this wasn't so. We had MUSIC back then. Not hatin'...I'm jus' sayin .

  • This is some of that ole Ford LTD funk....

  • That fucking bass is insane , I remember dropping this tune everytime I brought a girl back to my place in the 80's , Love it

  • This was my jam, thank for the post

  • I'm not a fan of disco but this is really funky

  • @SoalaJohn54 That's because it's funk and not disco : )

  • @SoalaJohn54 This ain't disco. This was 1984. Electro-funk/synth-funk (like this song), Hi-NRG and garage were in play, and house music was coming.

  • That bass! Sexy music!

  • california love by dr dre

  • This was the shit...Love it

  • BItches aint shit Lil jon n da Mothafuckin East side boys!!

  • In an alternate Universe where we are all strippers (that goes for the men, too) this would be my jam of choice - mwahahahahahaha :P Mx

  • NOBODY sampled n KILLED this better than DJ Quik "Tonight"

  • @GngstaWrldOrder777 cant forget DJ sampled this in Kriss Kross - Some Cut Up

  • @GngstaWrldOrder777 actually, dj quik didnt sample "intimate connection" for his song "tonight". He sampled another Keeer song called "tonight". Thats why Quik named his song "tonight" (as a way of honoring the original song). However, Quik did sample "intimate connection", but for a entirely different song. if you dont believe me...type in Kleeer "tonight" and listen for yourself.

  • @xlmidi Thats true but I dont think I can recall a quik track with the "intimate connection " sample ...but however, dr. dre used " intimate connection" as the sample on the " california love remix " for tupac.

  • @nniuqed many year's ago, after Quik sampled "tonight" by kleeer, he was interviewed by one of those popular 90s magazines. he talked about the mpc 60 and the sp1200 (i was particularly interested because i had a sp1200 at the time), and how he chopped samples with very little sample time (sp had 10 seconds of sample time). he shared how he sampled kleeer's "tonight",and how he chopped the synth sounds from "intimate connection" into tiny unrecognizable sample stabs for another song he made.

  • @xlmidi umm...ok.

  • Remember this one from way back in the day.. still bump it in my STS... I'm waiting on what new artist will decide to try and remake this because they have no other inspiration/idea/creativity.... lol....

  • I am just hearing this for the first time. I was looking up songs that 2Pac sampled. This is a bad muthafuckin song here. I mean so jazzy, funky and these boys could sing!

  • lol...don't try to impose ur opinions on others idiot!

  • MF DOOM from monster island czars sampled the shit out of this wow he ripped it sickness

  • California...knows how to party

    California...knows how to party

    In the citaaay of L.A.

In the citaaay of good ol' Watts

In the citaaay, the city of Compton

We keep it rockin! We keep it rockin!

  • This was the best song..RIP Woody Cunningham.

  • sounds like the beat to California Love by tupac...

  • This song is the sh*t! I always loved this song. Along with "Heartbeat" by the Dazz Band, it sparked a creative movement in me as a producer of funky rhythms with a jazzy undertone that you can dance a two, maybe three step to. LOL

  • What a baddddasss tune Im sorry I realy feel for anyone that is´nt moved by this killer tune. Bass, vocals, melody, words we all could associate with, and a love making tempo.Brilliant music, much unlike the vulgarity from some of todays "stars".

  • @ebantiass11 I couldn't agree more. The lyrics are poetic enough to stand on their own without the music. Nothing like this out there now.

  • @ebantiass11 Dr Dre must love it

  • @ebantiass11 YA KNOW! I may have been 13 or 14 when this track dropped, but, I knew what this crew was talking about with this track.

  • Kleeer was just the sh*t!!!!

  • I'm not sure, but Dr. Dre used the baseline in "California Love", a Tupac song. It's not hard to make a hit song, when you use one!!!... (LOL)

  • Didn't they use this song as the theme song for the British comedy, 'Chef!"?

  • @FromUR2UB No. The theme song for Chef! was performed by a British soul musician named Omar Lye-Fook (commonly known as OMAR). Its a totally different song.

  • Whomever put this track on here deserves a round of applause. I use to DJ in Jr. High & High School in the 80's. This was the "JAM" at the skating ring. If you don't or didn't like this, your parents wasn't cool & you were confine to the house all the time. "Keep it Poppin"!!!... Baby!!!...

  • I was in Louisiana stationed at Fort Polk when this came out. When this came on the radio all the talk would stop and we'd all be bobbing heads. One of the coolest cuts ever, imo, and very underrated.

  • MAAN......Lets SKATE!!!

  • Thanxz 4 this Jam, Keep the Funk alive Smooth ass Jam

  • memorable song for the summer of '84. Cameo had a tune during the same time "Hanging downtown"

  • @1teedie O'h thanks for putting that song Hanging Downtown into my mind, now I'm gonna bust out that album. That jams brings back so many good times with my family and friends!!! Thanks you!!!!

  • best ever music

  • RIP to the man sining lead vocals Woody Cunningham! I was in the studiohanging out with them when they recorded this album! Those were the days I had a blast!

  • California Love Remix

  • I still laugh at how they decided to spell clear, kleeer I remember in the 90's as a kid seeing those old albums laying around. I used to be like " what in the heck is kleeer" lmao

  • Intimate connection baby......SEEERRRIOUSSS!!! LOL

  • internet convention. . .

  • nice bassline ;)

  • THIS IZ THE SHIT YOUNG SKOOL KNOWS NOTHIN AND I DO MEAN NOTHING BOUT THIS JOINT

  • You sure don't hear tunes like this nowadays....bring back the good stuff and screw all the modern manufactured bullshit

  • This is still the bomb!
