love that song! learned it long time ago, haven't thought to play it in a while! I play by ear, limits me in some ways, but is an advantage in others. both ways is ideal.
Very nice...nice work on the banjo buddy! I Have a very old 5 string banjo..which I just strum..why bother with the clawhammer or Scruggs style...wouldn't mind trying a 4 string tenor..sounds cool. Good vid
my fiddle was totally distroyed before i was born about 85 years ago then fixed a while ago so now it looks really old only because it was snaped in two and scratched to peices but i can't seem to find a fiddle with a sound like the one i got -- until this song , your sound rocks :)
Hi, this is Qristina, I usually listen to the song first, and if I can find the sheet music I will go with that also, but often all I've got to go with is the tune itself. :)
I can see your having a ton of fun. Your brother's cording the banjo rather than finger picken... yeah! Thats the way we do it here in Missouri and if I am not mistaken that is the more "traditional" way of playing...that is until bluegrass became big.
Hi, thanks for your kind compliments. It is an old tenor banjo with Irish Tenor Banjo strings on it. My brother has been playing it for a few weeks, it's a lot of fun. We decided to play a couple of Appalachian tunes at this concert & thought the banjo would give them a more authentic "mountain" feel. Glad you liked them :) Qristina
he dont have to smile if he doesnt want to - just be himself is best

What was the name of the first tune? I like that one alot. I'd Like to learn it.

the name of the first tune is "Little Billy Wilson" which I learnt from Erynn Marshall, a talented fiddler and wonderful entertainer.
