I have lived in the States for a year and been to China. And people in the States generally have more money and more free time to focus on sports while the general people in china dont have the same luxury of fokusing on sports to the same degree.

That medal count is gay, you cant count all medals as equals and say oh we have 37 so we lead the stats. Gold is the most important so you need to rank it with most gold first. So Canada should be on top with 14 and Germany in second with 10 and USA in third with 9 beating Norway who also has 9 because they have more silver....

Your absolutely right when you say that some of my countrymen are sore losers. It was a great game, but a tough loss. Definitely does not mean we are "becoming irrelevant on the world stage". There's specualtion they may not support the Sochi games where they would not get the coverage they got in Canada. They expect lower TV audiences due to time time zones differences. Canada was favored before the games even began. It was supposed to be a Canada v. Russia gold medal game. Even after the American 5-2 win. Canada was expected to come back with a fire and meet them again in the final, which they did. The game against Russia was a laugher. Canada simply dismantled them. Canada was hardly the underdog. Broduer, Iginla, Luongo, Niedermayer, Pronger, Boyle, Thornton, Marleau, and Morrow, are all over 30, actually. Whose mistaken now?

I tried to come up with a new scoring system that would help Canada get first, unfortunately after the math, the order remains exactly the same. In my point system: Gold Medals are worth 3 points, Silver worth 2, Bronze worth 1. The US got 70 Points, Germany got 63, and Canada got 61.

So no help from my scoring system. :(
