To lettermen1, thank you for posting this. You guys came to Rome a few years ago when Jerry Leoni became ill. You stayed at the house at the hospital then, where my mom is the house mother. I remember it well and have your CD, but not one with this member of the group. Very good. My husband was a huge fan of yours, as am I. I listen to your CD as I travel. My husband died in 2009, and it brings back so many memories for me. Thank you for sharing! Hope you are all doing well now.
@Charlotte8018 Thanks... I'm not one of the band, just a fan. A couple of years ago Mr Poynton, who has recently rejoined the group sent me a far clearer copy, which I posted back then... thanks for listening and commenting.
I thought I had commented on this a couple of years ago Phil. I don't remember Bobby Poynton, but this version of Eric Clapton's truly sad song is well done! Can you clean up the sound?
Glad you liked my version of "tears in heaven". I'll be putting a new CD on the net and would love to have you check out some of the tunes. Got to me my facebook page and let me know what you think.
Bobby, I'll be glad to check out your CD. Have you seen the "Most popular line-up" on Pat Fullerton's site which consistently shows Tony, Donovan and yourself at #1 ? My vote is in there as I think you added a new dimension to the Lettermen sound. I'm proud to have heard from you!

It certainly was, in tribute to his little son who died tragically.

Well this is a lovely version. He has a lovely tuneful voice and I agree, sung with passion.

I tuned in to see if it was that song, & so I had to stop listening. I just can't. I have a little boy - I just can't listen.

I love this song so much. It was written by Eric Clapton wasn't it?
Tilly220 4 years ago
Yep! this song was written and sung by Eric Clapton originally for his son....I believed it was anyway.
