@TheLOLCOPPER Davros is far more evil than Darth Vader. He is more like Emperor Palpatine in a wheelchair. A wrinkly faced Galactic Emperor who tortures people with lightning from his fingertips, wants to rule the universe, has a huge army, encourages people to give into their anger and hatred and so on and so forth. The Master is Doctor Who's Darth Vader. Good guy to start off with, then rejects the Jedi/Time Lords and turns evil and then eventually turns good and saves the hero.
@TheLOLCOPPER Actually, I believe that there are two Sidious/Vader storylines within Doctor Who. Davros is Sidious and Dalek Sec is Darth Vader (black evil cyborg who turns good and sacrifices himself to save the hero) in one storyline. In the other Sidious/Vader Doctor Who storyline, Rassilon is Sidious and the Master is Vader because Rassilon was ultimately worse considering that he was the one who turned the Master evil just like how Sidious turned Vader evil.
"You see, there's nothing you can do to stop it now..."
David Gooderson did manage to capture the character's creepiness - I don't think it's fair that people knock his performance when they compare his to others. But I must admit, Terry Molloy had Davros down to a fine art.
supposingly the daleks actually succeeded in eliminating all other life forms and become the only creatures as is their goal. i mean, what exactly would they then do next?
Seriously that last quote is scary good. I mean seriously, Davros names the Doctor as "The destroyer of worlds".... Whoever came up with that line is a god.
The best ones were: Michael Wisher ( The First ), Terry Molloy ( The Second to last.) and Julian Bleach ( The last, and in my opinion the greatest of them all...)
I think every actor who has played Davros has brought something to the party... However, a small, small part of me thinks he shoild have stayed dead at the end of Genesis of the Daleks. It would have just been more poetic... But if that had been the case we'd have been denied further appearances of one of the best Who-bads on the show.
Davros is the one Doctor Who villain I think is consistently threatening and creepy. Whoever played him or whatever he said, he was awesome. Not even The Master can say that. Davros all the way!
....looking back I think Revelation of the Daleks is really the best Who episode ever...it is certainly the darkest and Davros would have gotten away...the Dr didn't stop him only a couple of peon workers from Nekros......
God I wish they had never brought Davros back. He was perfect in "Genesis of the Daleks" and none of the subsequent actors managed to live up to Wisher.
My God...Michael Wisher: brilliant, brilliant BRILLIANT. Seriously, his portrayal of Davros is one of THE best acting performances I've ever seen. The first clip alone gives me goosebumps every time.
Ok, Davros is going to obliterate all of reality, the Doctor stops this destruction hence Davros names the DOCTOR the destro... ah enough. Davros..... is a butt head and the Doctor aint no destroyer.
"Never forget, Doctor, YOU DID THIS! I NAME YOU FOREVER: YOU ARE THE DESTROYER OF WORLDS!!! NYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!" *Skaro blows up*
Molloy's Davros always amused me. He sounds like a slightly annoyed grumpy old man. Watch that clip from Revelation, starting at 1:07 or so. Now picture him saying that to his neighbor's rascally kids that put a bucket of water on his door again.
I've never seen the appeal of the Molloy Davros. Sure, he's a big improvement from 0:34, but his makeup is rubbish (looks like he's melting), and his speeches are melodrammatic rather than empassioned like the original
@MrAxemana As a matter of fact, David Gooderson is, or at least rather effeminate. But he did as good a job as Davros as he could under the restrictions of too large a mask and too small a wheelchair. Frankly, first time I saw that story, I thought it was Michael Wisher, just without the voice distort.
@MrAxemana Yes, I mean the one you mean. As far as it not sounding like Wisher, back when I first saw Gooderson's Davros in the late 70's/early 80's, and not having seen "Genesis of the Daleks" in a while, and there not being an electronic distort in the voice, how was I to know it wasn't Wisher until the end credits?
Davros: Yes... yes. To hold in my hand a capsule that contained such power... to know that life and death on such a scale was my choice. To know that the tiny pressure on my thumb, enough to break the glass, would end everything. Yes - I would do it. That power would set me up above the gods! And through the Daleks, I shall have that power!
Davros is such an awesome villain in his own right (especially played by Julian Bleach) that he could easily sustain a story of his own without the Daleks even being mentioned.
The Davros in Genesis has so much more depth than the other versions of Davros. The later ones after Wisher just turned the character into a "point and scream" one sided super-villain. Wisher's Davros had much deeper depth to it, and overall better character development.
wow, I love Davros...Lol. he's awesome. I love Michael's performance-he's probobally the best-maybe cause he's original and noone can capture what he put into it, you know? I liked Julian Bleaches act to! ( )
I once saw Terry Molloy at a show, and he put on the mask and then as he spoke slowly turned it into Davros' voice and scared the hell out of me because it was nightmare from childhood right in front of me. He may have had some awful writing to work with, but Molloy did get the job done. Much better than what David Gooderson did anyway. Though Michael Wisher remains definitive for me.
He's good alright, so good he's BAD! and good at being bad! okay, so I'm getting too confusing now, I'll just say I liked his performance, and leave it at that.
In Revelation Davros' voice wasn't modulated either, so why si everyone against the voice of David Gooderson because it wasn't modulated and not for revelation?! I NEED ANSWERS!
I think he went overboard when he said that and it became a little too comical but Davros naming the Doctor The Destroyer of Worlds is his best line because it shows he knows what to say to hit the Doctor the hardest even at his end.
This that I hold in my hand a capsule that contains such power

@MaskedMan66 Well i have noticed that the timeframe i gave linked to a diffrent scene

so if thats the one you thought i meant then i did not and i think it was a pretty good scene
