Any Mac is a lot better than any Windows computer that I've seen. If Microsoft were to create full computer solutions (not just an OS) they will be able to create much faster hardware. That's the same reason why android phones are so slow and unstable. They have no hardware acceleration what so ever. The Macs not only have a well thought out OS, but their laptops and phones are also very sturdy and high quality.
Vista was quite a buggy OS; certain interfaces would not load for me which were central to the OS, such as file sharing settings dialog. It was also somewhat slower compared to both XP and 7.
I would only recommend Vista to those with lots of ram, do not share resources on a network and do not use many third party software/drivers (they are often incompatible).
I still use Vsta (Dual Boot with 7) because I love its style. Visually, it is the best OS out there. And those complaining bout Vista being slow or crashing... GET A DECENT COMPUTER!!!!! I've always run Vista without any problems with my 3 GHZ Processor and 3 GB of RAM. It feels really beautiful! Of course 7 is awsome too, but they cut a lot of features from Vista (Windows DreamScene, for example). I also got a Mac, which is OK, but Windows feels just more natural. Apple comp. are overpriced.

well according to what I have been told, in vista since 2010-11 they have got in rid of slip streaming. I know 7 doesn't have it for sure. That the unattended, and syspreping is still a bitch though. So yea we will see, um on a lighter note server 08' r2 is really nice, alittle bloated though.
How about Bill Gates take on Adobe's Photoshop, just for one, or Sony's video editor, which is more robust for two major examples. For the cost of Office or OS, it's time they stepped up that promise
One thing you will never see is Windows OS at Firesale prices, It remains rather costly in shops. My friend who IT's for MS tells me you can expect to see Windows 8 or SP 3 or 2, for Windows 7. XP is being discontinued, it's decided and Vista won't be supported either, after a few years

@TheQuarryboy - I agree. Had a free Win ME copy when it was released when I purchased a computer. Thankfully, I elected to install with the rollback option because ME was awful. Took me about 2 hours of pain and I rolled it back.
As for Vista, it too was junk. Fortunately, I found this out using a work computer and not my personal. Thet were smart not to call Windows 7 "Vista - 2nd Edition" as they did with 98. That OS was good and 2nd Edition were enhancements, not bug fixes.
vista isnot slow its a very special thing if u know much of pc u can make windows vista faster than windows 7 like create more ram cuz vista is a ram eater or by overclocking windows 7 is normally faster but its may 2 seconds by starting up

i had vista installed for about 5 minutes. in that timeframe my brain imploded. and ya, that HD movie maker is just great, i mean why use a 10 year ahead software like imovie, premiere or final cut, when u have that piece of shit?!

I know that Vista is shit. I am a Win7 User and i can tell you: IT IS ANNOYING!!!!!, Run as admin, Run as admin, my head is gonna blow in a tyme! My user account is as a Administrator, but i dont have administrator rights!!!!!! And setting contability, Och my! DO NEVER UPGRADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing why do I use Win7 is becaus Windows Xp is unstable (BSODs) And i have a Debian system on my other partition. The only problem that i have with Ubuntu, and i have a prob in running games! :(

@TheQuarryboy - I agree. Had a free Win ME copy when it was released when I purchased a computer. Thankfully, I elected to install with the rollback option because ME was awful. Took me about 2 hours of pain and I rolled it back.
As for Vista, it too was junk. Fortunately, I found this out using a work computer and not my personal. Thet were smart not to call Windows 7 "Vista - 2nd Edition" as they did with 98. That OS was good and 2nd Edition were enhancements, not bug fixes.

vista isnot slow its a very special thing if u know much of pc u can make windows vista faster than windows 7 like create more ram cuz vista is a ram eater or by overclocking windows 7 is normally faster but its may 2 seconds by starting up

I haven't tried Windows 7 though it could be truly better than Vista. I am now using Windows Vista which does indeed have problems. Occasionally slows down and stuff.

I don't know what's with all of you? I was using Vista and it ran totally ok, I never needed to format/reinstall and all of the games worked on it... But I agree that W7 is Vistas flash combined with XP's speed :D
