j'aime ce chant sublime et la très belle vidéo !

Merci Yana pour ce beau partage

    Marie

  • I love it.

  • This is very beautifully sung. I like both Counter-Tenor and Mezzo-Soprano voices if I find them pleasing and expressing the meaning of what is being sung, and here that is the case. Thanks to Serenaluce for sending this to me.

  • This I like. Lovely.

  • Very very beautiful, as always!

  • Beautiful!

  • Very beautiful! Superb! So nice & so thin rendition!

  • Awesome!!!

  • The more serenaluce proposes me this Spanos' videos, the more I prefer female contralto voice :)

  • @MisterPapageno What an irrelevant comment! I would ask that, unless you have something specific (positive or negative) to say about THIS particular performance, you refrain from making generalised ironic remarks, please.

  • @suoidolem Dear Manos, these 2 negative ratings mean absolutely nothing. If it were only about ART, opend-mindness and tolerance, this world would be a much better place to live. But YT is part of this crazy world too with all its prejudice and nasty tricks. Some can't hear HEAVENLY beauty the way only CTs can render. It's their problem. Also, there are people like CaraPhilos,Larrydonguy who just follow me and Laurie for criticizing a certain falsettist to the artists we admire and press "I dislike".

  • @serenaluce Who cares, anyway. It's their loss. :-)

  • @suoidolem Of course,it's their loss, but I always fight with an open viser, have an OPINION and can explain why I like an artist or not.Such people make YT absurd appealing to the world to vote against me and Laurie if we only ask eg.how EMI can claim BS what will happen in the future. Are they clairevoyant?"This album will be a block buster and stir, CENTURIES later, the publics taste for beauty and virtuosity, as was the case at the time of the famous castrato to whom Philippe pays homage."??

  • @suoidolem It's impossible anymore to ask why it's called only "Philippe Jaroussky's new album" as BTW it's called "Duetti" and is recorded with "somewhat" great CT Cencic?I respect Caroline as she says she doesn't care if it's pop and she likes PJ as she finds him cute. It's an OPINION...And here the artist actually received only positive ratings as I'm just awashed in PMs where people(I don't know why they are shy to write it here)find this particular piece exceptional even for Nicholas Spanos!

  • @serenaluce I can't say I know exactly what you're talking about, dear Serenaluce. Can you please explain what this is all about?

  • @suoidolem I mean YT was made as democratic institution to give people opportunity to watch videos and express freely their OPINIONS,individually but it's used to brainwash them.I'm against such kind of promotion when absolute BS is claimed that eg PJ's "Carestini CD"will be a blockbuster or that if another CD is released "Duetti" with another participant Cencic why is it called only PJ's new album? Why if Laurie and me express what we think about it, PJ's cheer leaders appeal to vote against us?

  • @MisterPapageno Caro, come on.I propose to you not only Spanos's videos, but other artists too, as well as you share with me videos which you like, and even sometimes countertenors:-) You even admired so much Radu Marian in the FEMALE aria of the Queen of the night which is weird to hear as CTs shouldn't sing it.But you were ecstatic! How come?! Because your beloved female contraltos can't sing that high? But OK, if YOUR heart doesn't melt from such heavenly beauty, no more sharing Spanos for you:(

  • unforgettable

  • @experimentalis Dear friend, did you manage to come and listen to this recital live? I know how much even better Nikos's voice can sound LIVE:-). But long live YT as we still can have a glimpse of it, recorded MAGIC!:-)

  • @serenaluce Dear Serenissima, it was one of the best concerts i've ever attended. Both Nicolas and Zafranas were in full form, and their interpretation went straight to the heart. When they closed the program with the An Die Ferne Geliebte, they brought tears to my eyes.

  • @experimentalis I think the more they aim for directness and simplicity, the better they become. They have excellent synergy. It was simply unforgettable. In a cold windy salonica night. And a friend came with her four months old baby, who listened attentively to them all the time, but started crying when he heard the audience clapping. And now i'm compulsively listening to the piece, again and again.

  • @experimentalis I might say that here the piece sounds even better, because where i was sitting the sound of the piano came rather harshly. But this did not detract from the magic.

  • @experimentalis I envy you so much that you managed to listen to this recital live:-)I'm looking forward to more pieces from it and perhaps An Die Ferne Geliebte.Yes,I understand what you mean. Much depends on the acoustics of the hall and where the recording takes place.I heard both Nikoses in Athens, and their Quand je fus pris sounded just fantastic, but on YT the piano seems a bit loud in other hall. Also,I don't know how Nikos can handle it,but for me a crying baby would be very distractive:-)

  • suberb !

  • Simply a sublime interpretation!

A fraternal embrace of friends in Brazil.

    Televisual Team

  • @TelevisualFilmes I agree, sublime, heavenly! Hugs to you,

    Yana:-)

  • thanks always.............on ur amazing shares.......music.n its sweetness

  • Beautiful! Does someone know the english translation of this sublime piece of artwork?

  • Dear friends, thank you for all your support.I'd just like to address to the tiniest part of you who comment on other videos of geniuses Spanos and Lemos on every blink, move and choice of repertoir and want to "improve" them with the position:"I admire you but if you change a bit for me I'll love you even more":-)"Rules and models destroy genius and art"(William Hazlitt)Also,"There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self."(Huxley):)Enjoy BEAUTY!

  • Wuuuuuuuuuuuunderschööööööööööön! - Sooooooo fein gesungen, soooooooooo fein die Begleitung! - Bravo!

  • Excellent interpretation!

  • Splendide interpretation!

He's in his little shoes in this repertoire...

    Bravissimo!!

    Pierre

  • @opera1232010 Dear Pierre, why do you think that Nikos's shoes are little?:-) I heard him live and saw in person. His shoes are rather big, very manly size! As well as his voice:-) If you don't believe me please come to his performance and after it look closely at his feet:-). He looks very, very manly, and very sexy either with his beard or without. I can assure you:-).

  • @serenaluce

Yana, It was a find comment...In French, It means simply that he's full comfortable in this kind of repertoire....

    Pierre

  • @opera1232010 Dear Pierre, don't worry,I was just joking, but your Quebecois French can put you in trouble:-)Actually, it's funny, our Canadian friend who is absolutely bilingual having an English mother and Frech father told us that in France he speaks only English as they just laugh even at his pronounciation and say that it's not French. And in England...he was once in an office talking.Another person entered, heard him speaking English and asked:"Is there anybody here who can speak English?"LOL

  • @opera1232010 Dear Pierre, actually I remember now that when I was taking a French course in the French quarter Saint Boniface in Winnipeg I had at least one case of misunderstanding when I checked my French-Russian dictionary, and it meant quite OPPOSITE to what the teacher said about using it in Canada.I can't remember what exactly it was.But in Quebec I couldn't understand their way of speaking:-)So, I just suggest you rewrite your comment:"Spanos is in his BIG shoes"and no problem with it!LOL

  • @opera1232010 Dear friend, the expression "to be in one's little shoes" means to feel uncomfortable, awkward, and it comes from the french. Do you really find that Nicholas feels uncomfortable in this repertoire?

  • @suoidolem

I'm sorry my friend, but I'm a French Canadian and unfortunately you're wrong for this French expression... It means, He's full confortable in this repertoire!

    That was a find comment!!

    Pierre

  • @opera1232010 Well, I agree, but read this:

    soulier (soo-l’yeh) (m), noun = shoe

    « Etre dans ses petits souliers » = « Etre mal a l’aise »

to be in one’s little shoes = to be ill at ease, awkward, uncomfortable, embarrassed

« Chacun sait où le soulier le blesse »

Everyone knows where his own shoe hurts him.

  • @suoidolem

Sorry but your link doesn't work in my computer...Believe me, this is a bad interpretation of this old French Canadian expression and I no want open a joust about the sense of French Canadian expressions here but, I know exactly what it means because we're using often here and there is just one sense of it... :-)

    Pierre

  • Thank for serenaluce for sharing this .. it is a beautiful interpretation. As a fluent (bilingual) German speaker I'm also impressed by the diction. Spanos's voice is so sweet and pure and yet warm and not constrained or forced .. you forget he must have trained for ages to achieve this, you don't hear any effort whatsoever. Very sensitive and artistic accompaniment too. It's like a proper duet, not just some chords to help with intonation, like so many sadly are! :)

  • @PrimaRagazza Wonderful comment!Thank you, dear Anna:-)I envy you that you are bilingual concerning German.I actually have some German blood, understand some, but I don't speak it,and actually can't appreciate it as its due in speaking as I was pushed TOO much by my aunt that I HAVE to learn German and it's a great and beautiful language, and by my dad too who has German blood. As a result I just refused to learn it as a child and think that only my dad has it,not me:-)But I adore German in music:)

  • @serenaluce i also think German is a gorgeous language to sing in .. not as good as Italian of course but better than English! (I am English but have the greatest difficulty singing English without sounding foreign!)

  • @PrimaRagazza I agree, I think that British English is perhaps the most beautiful language in the world (it's subjective, of course, as the majority of all people with whom I've ever discussed this matter of sheer beauty of the language say it's French:-)), but I think it sounds much better in speaking, not in singing. I can imagine how divine it sounded when Oscar Wilde spoke it and can imagine his manners based on what I've read of him:-)But singing is better in Italian,German,French:-)

  • Very beautiful interpretation. Thank you.

  • Absolutely beautiful, and masterfully done! This is clearly a preferred repertoire for Spanos; one in which his natural vocal, music and linguistic gifts can be utilized to full advantage. And I just love the illustrations!

  • @EdmundStAustell Yes,I fully agree with you about Nikos's linguistic gifts in addition to his incredible musical gift.Actually, God gave him everything: the most beautiful voice in the world (it's my subjective opinion, of course, but we exchange opinions on YT:-)), this ultimate tenderness in his strong voice which nobody else has, expressiveness, strong chest, perfect several languages(you should listen to his perfect English:-)) and good looks! What else people can want from a PERFECT singer?:-)

  • I had hoped to hear Spanos sing more German. Thanks for this lovely upload. There is a timeless quality to his singing that is undeniable.

  • @ariodante76 Exactly, timeless! And still more German pieces to come:-). I just adore Nikos's singing in German! But I also adore him singing in Greek, Italian, French, Spanish, English... Hope to hear him singing in Russian some day. A genius is always a genius!:-) Bravissimo!

  • @ariodante76 Dear Daniel, actually, I forgot that Nikos also wonderfully sings in Portuguese. On YT there's a video "Luar de meu bem" where he sings it in Brazilian Portuguese. I like this song very much, and actually Brazilian music is very appealing to me besides IMO the biggest Brazilian musical National treasure - another one and only Jose Lemos:-) And at that fantastic recital in Athens which I attended Nikos sang it in continental Portuguese as an encore piece.I wish you could hear it too:)

  • Simply fantastic. Thanks for uploading and sharing.

  • Hi, This is absolutely delightful, a truly wonderful performance, simply overflowing with grace & beauty, a true gem. Thank you so much for posting & serenaluce for sharing.

  • I'm listening to it again and again, and having tears in my eyes...Just thank you for the BEAUTY! PERFECTION! Such unbelievable colour of Nikos's voice with adding expressiveness to tenderness at the right moments! There are no words to describe his magic! And a very beautiful video too! Thanks Manos for uploading. We want more:-)

  • @serenaluce It was very gorgeous. I am so amazed at the quality of his voice. So clean and pure. Jealous.

  • How beautiful! Wonderfully performed - there is a purity to this singing and piano playing, a lack of pretence, a direct access to underlying great emotion that is all the more touching for being understated. First class and heart-wrenching. Thanks to suoidolem for uploading and bravo to the musicians (for me an unbeatable team).

  • @fourmy1060 Dear Anthony,I couldn't express it better than you.Such inexpressive BEAUTY! Really purity and absolutely lack of pretence. It's like Nikos's heart is speaking directly to my heart! I don't know if WOW is an intelligent enough word to express admiration, but it's wow!:-) Ultimate tenderness and heart-wrenching! Nobody can sing like our one and only Nicholas Spanos! Bravissimo! Nikos Zafranas is a brilliant pianist indeed. I've heard them both live, and it's an unbeatable team!:-)
