How could you be a true pokemon collector and not enjoy Japanese cards and packs? English cards are REPRINTS (not saying theyre not awesome also.) However, Japanese cards are ORIGINAL and unadulterated; greater than English cards in many ways.

Just a keen interest and love for these cards. As a kid, I always wanted to get Japanese cards but they were so expensive ($10 dollars a pack). Now that I have money, and these cards are more affordable, I can finally have a completed set of both English & Japanese. I also think Japanese cards are nicer (the holos sparkle a little more). Other great youtubers love Japanese cards too (Arcanine88, UnownTV,etc). It's just a preference =P

Most of the JAP sets offered a guaranteed holo but some sets didn't. This includes Japanese Base Set, as well as E-Card sets (not too sure about 2-5 but I believe they followed this trend).

You should get the games! They've been really addicting to play and it'll bring back a lot of fond memories you had playing gold/silver =] Just wait until after your done exams though cause it can get quite distracting =]

Did you get your packs off of an American seller? I remember seeing one seller with 40 packs or so for sale so I assume you bought all his packs? Mine was in a lot sale with around ~90+ packs in it a while back so I'm hoping to finish this set =[

LOL. It isn't, I just screwed up my wording and hoped no one figured it out. I meant to say something like "strange/odd" but somehow ironic popped out (It's probably cause I use the word a lot due to the labs I have to write because the outcomes don't necessarily agree with the predictions and such =P.. ahh gotta love school).

haha that's what I thought too but I think it has to do with production costs, much like how they decreased the number of cards in the English E-Card sets from 11 to 9.

Yeah, it's an awesome card. The Feraligatr card in this set has similar art work to this Blastoise and it's a pretty sweet card too. Hopefully you see it when I make a collection video cause I pulled it off camera =[
