Hobao are fantastic cars got a Hyper st Pro I have yet to break it apart from the 2 year old diff went because I ran it dry for 3 weeks but that's it very robust they make a monster truck called the pirate aswell. I have one of these Firestorms and yet to kill a diff year and a half still perfect just replace the bearings so nothing wobbels about and it will be fine. Had a HPI MT2 rubish stripped diffs every week crap car. Oh Cen genesis is good too dwarfs the savage.

the bulkheads on these cars are shite

i smashed 2 in 2 days 1 in a car park going up a sloped curb snapped

in a store car park my mate clipped it on a post whilst drifting it wasnt even that hard and it snapped

its very weak where the top of bulkhead connects to the chassis plate via 2 screws

i bought the metal skidplate (10 pound) and it never happened again

very good car though for entry level

just have the one gear. and they dont go wrong only if you crash and they can then still keep going they are very hard little thing's. main thing to go is the front bulkhead and that is about £6

you're right there,i have loads of nitro cars including 2 firestorms (i have one on a youtube video) and i would say electrics are for babies and people who can't start or tune a nitro engine.i couldn't hang around for half hour to charge a battery just so i could drive for 15 minutes and then have to charge it again.

I believe electrics are for people who are just starting the hobby and are running in urban places where noise is an issue. Electric is a cleaner and easier vehicle to deal with and unless people know that they want to be in this hobby for good then they need to start with electric. Heck I did and now I'm getting an hpi baja 5b ss.

I find the G3.0 engine fine no problems in my mt2, check for some air leaks as this could cause the problem you describe.
