i agree with posters, need visual spectral analysis display comparing the two (and spectrum of sound source as well). so many 'audiophiles' have no clue to how many compression/decompression processes occur during media distribution!!
LoL!! The onboard was best - much more clarity! Probably because mounted to a baffle, amplifies the sensitivity. The 1'st 1 was MUFFLED! NOT natural, but rolled-off highs. The Sony OK, the last 1 (onboard) most detail. Can roll off the highs in SOFTWARE after in EDITING! =)
That Sony mic is an obvious counterfeit, so of course it sounds like crap. Youtube search "Sony ecm-ds70p fake mic side-by-side comparison" and watch the first result. He does a side by side sound test and the difference between real and fake is staggering.
if uve messed with mics enough u will know how difficult it is to get good room acoustics. it really can make or break a recording. .. try using headphones and listen closely again.
You can defanitly tell a diffrence if you watch it in high quality. To do that you have to add &fmt=18 to the end of the URL which you can do to any youtube video. I do agree with you the first one sounded the best, but for an onboard mic it sounds good also
IMPOSSIBLE to distinguish the quality of the audio. The acoustic is terrible and the audio gets compressed when broadcasted on youtube. This is a pointless test ...
Go to the high quality version and listen with a headset. I couldn't tell the difference at first either, but you can really hear it if you add &fmt=18 to the end.
I need to make superb 3D sound. so i need a microphone that i can place the right and left channel apart. does the Soundman OKM Classic Solo II anable me to do that / and where can i find it ? thnks
I can't speak for the OKM Classic Solo II, but I can comment on the SONY ECM DS70P. I use it with an Olympus WS 311M digital recorder. I was very surprised at the stereo effect, which is much better than I expected. It is unidirectional, meaning it captures sound in front of the MIC. If you decide on this MIC, make sure you buy it from a reputable retailer. It is being counterfeited and sold at a very low price through eBay dealers. It actual price is near $50.00.
what is with the music?

Yes, you can connect an external mic, via mini or micro jack. Not quite sure at the moment.
