  • SIDNEY CROSBY=MARIO LEMIEUX!!

  • @pelikaanimies1 hahahaha ei vittu repesin ei cindystä ikinä oo tulos niin hyvää

  • I dislike Crosby but that's a pretty sick combo

  • passing the torch

  • Crosby acts like it was nothing. Pros are just like that.

  • i wish crosby was as tall as lemieux then he wouldnt have to worry about head shots

  • Lemieux to Crosby, best thing I have ever heard.

  • Lemieux to Crosby, he scores!

    Can't get enough of that.

    Leafs fan here.

  • Video still gives me chills

  • kovalev is just like alexi yashin pure skill but no heart and emotion

  • @cpaquin11 When I said he didn't have a 50 goal season before lemieux, i meant because he didn't play on Mario's line prior to the 1995-1996 NHL season. Look at his early career, not bad, but definitely not great. After playing on Lemieux's line, he had a break out career.

  • If only these two played at the same time, for a consistent amount of time... look out

  • I hate Crosby more than the English language is capable of describing, and even I see the magic in this video.

  • Crosby and Lemieux behind Pietro's net.

Crosby: I scored, Mario, I scored!

Lemieux: Stick with me, kid. We'll go far.

  • That's just an unfair combination.

  • @mightandglory My mom had her snatch removed. Hahaha.

  • Or Crosby to Lemieux?

  • What if it were Malkin to Lemieux to Crosby?

  • Asham is on the Pens now haha

  • Lemieux is a knob-gobbler.

  • I wish I had 1/3 of the skill Lemieux has

  • If it wasn't for Lemieux and Crosby, the Penguins wouldn't be in Pittsburgh right now. They both saved the franchise!

  • grandpa to grandson!!!

  • Passing the Torch from a Legend to a Legend in the making

  • There is something oddly special about knowing Lemiuex 7 Crosby played at the same time.

  • HAHAHA NIINIMAA AS USUAL OH WOW

  • Look at that pass... jeez.

  • That's great they got to play together, even if it was only part of a season.

  • Calling Kovy, an average player?! wow!

  • lemieux -> gretzky , lemieux -> crosby. yes.

  • this gives me the chills every time i watch it

  • 4 golden hands in action

  • this is the changing of generations/guards

  • and now Asham is Crosby's teammate ... and Lemieux is their BOSS !! lmao

  • Just your title "Lemieux to Crosby" is awesome. Almost like saying Lemieux to Lemieux Jr.

  • Jeez looking back at this you realize how cool that year was for hockey history

  • who else agrees lemieux and crosby would make the most dangerous duo ever?

  • This is like the passing of the torch.

  • hahaha asham!

  • Gretzkys better then Lemieux. There's a reason why Gretzkys called the Great One.

  • @BabbarKhalsaZindabad

Lemieux had a ton of health issues. If he hadn't, even greats like Bobby Orr say Mario would've been the greatest of all time if he was healthy.

  • @lawrence142002

thats hard to say, well never know now.

  • @lawrence142002 Orr should talk. IMO, he is the greatest player ever. Orr followed by Lemieux, Gretzky, and Francis. Howe just played OD long.

  • @BabbarKhalsaZindabad Mario is called the Magnificent One. I don't which is better, to be great or magnificent.

  • @BabbarKhalsaZindabad Plus, Mario retired the first time with a points per game of over 2, think about if he had been able to continue and be fully healthy during the majority of years he played. He could have surpased Gretzky. Trouble is we will never know.

  • WHAT A FUCKING PASS!

  • That was very interesting. I never knew that Lemieux and Crosby were together once.

  • Passin' tha torchpuck :D

  • Lemieux was the most skilled player of all time, Bar none.

  • awesome pass

  • ashaaammm!

  • They made that look so easy haha.

  • pwt

  • Lemuix = big, tall, strong, hard wrist shot, accurate wrist shot, amazing balance, amazing deking, amazing passer, amazing goal scorer, just amazing, in my opinion, look at lemiues games played, lol, and hes still on the top list, lemixu is the best nhl player to ever play, and gretsky is 2nd, and oveckun is 3rd, ovechkin has lots of time to even win cups and prove him self more, if ur a true hockey fan ud agree with me

  • @akbar232323 Ovechkin? He hasn't even finished his career. Wait till he does and then say he is the 3rd best player in NHL history.

  • @akbar232323 no ovechkin is not third his career is not over and to he does not have a cop the third as to be Steve" Yzerman

  • @akbar232323 somebody hire this guy as a gm apparently he should think for all of us... if you were a true hockey fan youre name wouldnt be akbar ... just sayin'

  • @akbar232323 and you spelled lemieux and gretzky wrong.. if you were a true hockey fan...

  • @kellyspub23 That is very ignorant and short sighted of you to assume that because someones spelling is off they are not a fan of the game. Has it ever occurred to you that many of the GREAT hockey players were illiterate??? Especially in the old days when education was far less prevalent. Grow up man. You are dumb (For this comment), I could have spelled it out anyway I wanted and THAT would be TRUE !

  • @kellyspub23 Mind you I agree with the Ovie statements.

  • @akbar232323 at the end of his career ovechkin will be very lucky to be in the top 25, VERY lucky.

  • i actually loved the pens til crybaby came along..i just couldnt be proud of a team that played into his crybaby ways..now they are just a bunch of whinning assholes..except for andre..he's the only one i can respect..cindy on the other hand is a big baby girl..mario should kick the crap out of him

  • @ejl74 lol you are retarded. because who left the game with 7 mintues left in the olympics when they were losing against Canada? I recall his name being Alexander Ovechkin. Who always blames his missed shots on his equipment or little injeries? Ovechkin. Crosby is a marked man on the ice. he shrugs of the hugest hits. juts look whats hes accomplished in the past 3 years alone more than Ovie will get in his life. Crosby is the all time team player.

  • @ejl74 loolol show me one video of him crying, seriously !

  • During the goal celebration, look at how subordinate Crosby looks when next to Lemieux.

  • kevenx is a fagat

  • the contrast is amazing, Crosby, a bitch, diver, whiner, etc. Lemieux, a legend in every sense, played the game the right way.

  • I'm a big Flyers fan, but I have much love for Mario. Point blank, he did it the way it's supposed to be done.

  • The most amazing thing about this video is seeing Rick Dipietro in the net.

  • @JJJJNobody

    LOL

  • @JJJJNobody lucky the puck didn't hit him in the cage, he would've been out 4-6 weeks with a fractured jaw

  • @JJJJNobody hahaha lolllll

  • @JJJJNobody my god...

  • @nyyNYR2094 that's much better than $1.98 per 1/2 hr, i'd say.

    nnyNYR2094 loves hockey players dicks.

    p.s enjoy the playoffs...again

  • @nyyNYR2094 your mom is $1.98 per 1/2 hr

    p.s enjoy the playoffs...again

  • nyyNYR2094 u having another gay fantasy? keep having gay fantasies about hockey players (like your original comment) and not me.

    p.s. enjoy the playoffs...again

p.p.s. AVERY (and your mom) IS A BYTCH

  • @nyyNYR2094 What?

  • It's intersting that some people watch a hockey vid on youtube and have silly arguments that don't end. Even more intersting is the people who watch the same vid...and get homoerotic thoughts.

    Enjoy the playoffs...again

  • only a rangers fan has man on man action constantly on thier minds

  • hahahahaha that's fuckin hysterical

  • "Daddy's gotcha...daddy's gotcha."

    Sko Pens!!!

  • Magic moment.

  • i'd usually take a Canadian over a Russian anyday, but Ovie plays on the edge, kind of like Bure did, Ovie a little more on edge, but after a while, Bure just went out and took matters into his own hands, and did something about it. Ovie the same way.

  • @Reinpret I hope you are not a steven reinprecht fan for 1.

for 2 why would you normally prefer a canadian? Why wouldnt you want the best? I dont understand why country matters....

I am american and my favorite hockey players are all but american. Sure Modano is the all time american scoring leader, but Super Mario is my all time favorite C. Derian Hatcher is the only USA Dman to be captain of a cup team. Coffey still my favorite, with Lidstrom right there. Also Bure never checked people.

  • wow you sure assume alot from just one youtube post. I admire players from around the globe, that in itself doesn't take away anything from my previous reply. Also although Bure didn't check often(didn't say he did anyway), he did take matters into his own hands. Check out Bure Elbow. and a few others you can look up on your own. I'd tone down on your presuppositions before replying jimaymay.

  • wow the penguins with a 5 on 3, what a surprise

  • they made it look so easy. mario wouldnt play with ovechkin. best line, Lemieux and Recchi flanking Crosby.

  • Tobad they didnt play in the same generation :(

  • i'd take bossy over ovechkin.

  • if you replace ovechkin with someone

  • Mario was so good with his passing skills, he could take an average person and make them a great goal scorer. Look at all the people he set up in his career and made them 40 even 50 goal scorers during any season. Truly the best hands i've ever seen in the history of the NHL.

  • Gretzky made Bernie Nicholls score 70 goals and 150 pts in 88-89.....yes you heard me right, BERNIE NICHOLLS.

But I agree, Mario had the best hands.

  • Gretzky is the only reason Jari Kurri is in the Hall of Fame...

  • Yeah that's also true.

  • redirish, Wendell Young comes to mind!

  • please explain to me how Wendell Young comes to mind? He was a goalie for the pens. We're talking about Lemieux and how good he was with his passing ability to set up people and make them superstars.

  • redirish, ok, so who was Mario's winger, a journeyman, who scored 40 goals simply because Mario was feeding him the puck? This goes back to when Mario probably had a year or two under his belt in the NHL.

  • He had several wingers. Doug Brown, Randy Quinn, Kevin Stevens, Mark Recchi, etc. How many of those types of guys did he turn into superstars. And how many were superstars before they played with him and after him?

  • Jensjam, you're right! Brown...#44.

  • Do you actually have names to back up your claims or are you talking out the wrong orifice?

  • rob brown 1988-1989 48 goals, kevin stevens 4 straight seasons of 40 + goals, 2 seasons over 50 goals, jarmoir jagr, 1995-1996 60 + goals, 2000-2001 50 + goals, alexi kovalev 2000-2001 just shy of 50 goals do you want more? he could turn an avergae hockey player into a superstar because of his passing skills. Also, look how good these players were without him around them.

  • I agree with you on brown, stevens, maybe jagr... but definetly not kovalev. KLS line - kovalev lang straka, lemieux and kovalev played rarely together.

  • @redirish311976 good lord Jagr was far from average

  • @Dezotell Jagr was better than average, but he was no 50 goal scorer or 100 point scorer until he was put on lemieux's line. That was my point. Lemieux could set up anybody and make their game so much better it isn't funny.

  • @redirish311976 yeah except for the 54 goal 123 point season he had on the rangers

  • @redirish311976 Yeah that's why Jagr has 3 Art Ross trophies in the years Lemieux DIDN'T play.

Wow you Pentards are so stupid it's almost funny. (almost)

  • @Stompulator44 The above thread was about how Lemieux made anybody look better, and Jagr was no exception. How many times did Jagr have a 50 goal season before Lemieux? None. How many after he left Pittsburgh? 1. 2 times in pittsburgh were 50 goal seasons. Both with Lemieux. Now, who is the retard?

  • @redirish311976 Lemieux DOES make everyone look better

    EX:

    Kovalev.

    game.set.match.

  • @cornboy111 Exactly that is what I've been saying all along.

  • @cornboy111 Kovalev had his best years playing together with Lang and Straka. But Lemieux DOES make his linemates look better. Rob Brown is a good example.

  • @redirish311976 But Jagr ain't your average player.

  • i dont like crosby either but any player that limieux likes that much has gotta be great.

  • Lemieux is a real legend! i don't like crosby

  • Jesus... It's like Michael Jordan to Lebron James. Lets go Pens!!

  • no gretzky is michael jordan

  • @tbe987 haha thats funny shit

  • @tbe987 why does there need to be a basketball reference.

i think its like lemieux to crosby, nothing else..

    hockey>basketball

  • @hockeyfightusa Plus Michael Jordan and LeBron James never teamed up together in the league.

  • @tbe987 i dont see gretzky anywhere in this video

  • @tbe987 Comparing Crosby to James is an insult to Crosby. Lebron is just some dumb nigger. Are you people kidding me?

  • @tylerdurdonxx your an idiot, james is great, stupid racist

  • @tbe987 michael jordan to kobe buddy....

  • @tbe987

no, its like jesus to sidney crosby

  • @LaxpulseLIVE your taking it a little too far calling a hockey player jeses

  • @CrosbyIsKing No, dumb shit, he called him jesus not jeses.

  • @avalanchesuperstar awww, you cant understand what i mean? aww, mentally challenged child. are you in special ed you stupid bitch?

  • @CrosbyIsKing Actually no, i'm not in special ed. If I was,I wouldn't know how to work on a computer.

  • @LaxpulseLIVE no, its like God to Jesus

  • cant stop this

  • love it, i didnt know that Lemieux didn't retire until 2005

  • retired in 1997 and came back in 2000

  • he retired a bunch of times and came back.

  • he retired in 97' and unretired in 2000 mainly because the Pens were a great team (they still had jagr, straka and kovalev in their prime) he kept playing until his back simply gave out on him.

  • lemieux would dominate the game in any decade... no doubt about it

  • @tags714 Lemieux was greatest player ever to play. He was phyiscally tough and much stronger than pretty boy Wayne. His 1700 points would be way above Gretzky's 2000 or so if he played more than less than half the amount of games that Gretzky played. (Not to mention the all-star talent that surruonded Gretzky in the 80's)

  • @mase5701 Gretz still had a better PPG. Having said that, overall Lemieux may have been a better player. Gretz finished with 800 more points than you're suggesting here btw... But I love both of them, how can you not respect what both of them brought to the game

  • @shortys914 Gretzky only had a better PPG after Lemieux came back. Lemieux mantained a higher PPG up to his first "retirement" or break from hockey.

  • @angeldarklcd i'm just talking career averages... blew it away

  • Lemieux is still better than Dupuis. We need him as an owner and player :P

  • It's a shame we didn't get to see this pair together more than we did....but I think with the crew we have, it's OK to have the next generation of champions.

  • hey i remember when the penguins sucked..they had like 5000 fans a night in the igloo, at best...flyers sell out every night...this battle of PA continues...congrats on the cup..n the super bowl..atleast we got the world series..the keystone state is kicking ass!

  • While I will not deny that a lot of Pens fans jumped off the wagon and jumped back on again (nothing I'm proud to admit), there were a lot more than 5k a night. The worst year we averaged 12k/game. Still nothing special, but people were still coming and rooting them on.

You are absolutely correct in your second statement though, we should be called State of Champions now! Best of luck to the Phillies too, cause we know damn well the Pirates won't get it done lol.

  • passing the torch, that is cool to see; and think what players were in the league when mario started; lafleur for one.

  • Could anybody beat an all time Penguins team? Dont think so-

  • I don't think anyone can beat them, but the only team that can compete with them would be an all time Canadians team.

  • k for one i think five or six players today are better than gretzkey crosby may not be the best over all but you cant find a player that can pass or move the puck through the neutral and offensive zone every player has their stregths thats crosby's he good at every part of the game though very hard to predict

  • I am sorry, did you say BETTER than Wayne?

I would like to know who are those.

  • if he keeps this up he will be!

assuming we are talking about Crosby here.

  • Yes, about Crosby...

But here's the thing about Crosby... will he match Wayne's 200 pts seasons of 4 times?

  • look at the goaltender come on the goaltender were so bad at the time if you hit the net you scored come on.Now with the goaltending greatzky would never hit 200 points. You dont think ovechkin is a better scorer than bossy come on goaltending make all the difference in the world

  • THey were bad??? THat's kind of a silly, don't you think?

  • If you watch the old games youll see what i mean. The goaler equipment is not the same at all. They look 2 times bigger now.Put mike vernon in the net with his old gear youll see what i mean. But im not saying anything about Cosby being better than Wayne cause hes not i mean not now but they are both great players with different skills in a different time thats all.For me Lemieux is the all time best but thats just my opinion it dosent mean its a fact.

  • who cares, he is not Wayne nor will he ever be Wayne. He will be great, already is great. Youngest Captain to win the Stanley Cup and bring them to the Finals 2 years in a row. That is pretty rad in my books, no disrespect to Wayne and I am not denying Wayne was great but Crosby has a whole different kind of awesomeness!

When all is said and done, Both players are really good and both deserve all that they have and will get in the future!

    fair enough?

  • I agree with this.

  • the games changed too much

  • Would Wayne have had that many points in this era, where the game is faster, the players hit harder, and the goalies have bigger pads?

  • Hell no

  • "the players hit harder"

lol, back in the gretzky days interference, cross-checking and especially hooking was everywhere. if you think the physical aspect of the game in 2009 makes it harder to score goals you're completely deluded.

answer your own question by looking up the difference in goal per game average between gretzky's era and ovechkin's.

its only 8% if i remember right. conclusion: gretzky would've had almost as much points, because of an EASIER physical game.

  • well i mean the fact that goalies shit themselves everytime there was a breakaway back in gretzkys day probably inflated his career numbers. Goaltending is MUCH better now.

  • @ak47mustang

you're just another retard repeating that stuff like a parrot because you read it somewhere.

while what you said is true, its only a small part of the equation. i sure didnt expect a retarded parrot to analyze the whole situation.

stfu, read my post, and go look up some gpg stats instead of being a random moron.

  • It'd be interesting is to see if there's any significant trend in average goaltending gvt over time. If you were to plot average goalie gvt as a function of time, you'd be able to see if there was any correlation between the ppg spike in the 80's and bettering goaltending. It'd be hard to isolate that from other factors, though, like the inception of trap defense.

There's not really a good database for USEFUL hockey statistics like even stregth points per 60 min instead of per year or game.

  • @ak47mustang

if you could read between the lines you would've realized i know very well that goalies sucked back then (from my 1 month ago post).

  • Not necessarily. Goalies had smaller pads, but they were a lot more athletic. An old-time goalie would probably do well in today's game.

Another factor is the sticks that the players use today. In the old days, they were made of wood; now, they're composite and will pretty much flex to sling the shot for you.

  • @ak47mustang gotta love how people blame it on the goalies, Hmmmm well I can simply say, thiers 2 line passing now, crosby and oveckun have big time advantages then other players did!

  • Mario has played with better...Jagr for one.

  • Get back to me when Richards leads the Flyers to an Eastern Conference Championship.

  • Haha!

  • Leadership doesn't score goals. Neither does Mike Richards.

  • what a pass!

  • I wish Lemieux still played...miss seeing him skate.

  • I hope Mario comes back for the playoffs this year,

    Mario>Chuck Norris

  • give your head a shake lol...

  • I think it's funny how Mario is the manager and like the few games that he played for the penguins that season, they started winning. lol. this guy is a legend.
