Many of the fundamental assumptions about who, why we are fighting and for how long were barely addressed in the Mainstream media during both wars.

The US, Europe, and Japan all have falling populations without resorting to policies like that of China. "Depopulation" implies something much more drastic than relying on economic growth or reproduction controls; it implies directly or indirectly causing deaths.
