Blackberry discontinued the their trackball system as soon as they could. They had many returns with this system. They also had the switch on the motherboard under the trackball go defective. The switch is surface soldered on a multi-layered circuit board, and thus it would not be easily replaced. They have to replace the circuit board, which is expensive.
From what I read, Blackberry lost many disatisfied customers over this issue. As for myself, I changed the phone for another one...
to all blackberry users that reboots itself or cannot be opened. i had the same problem and i went to cellphone repair shop. they told me that my OS didn't installed properly. something is missing that the phone suddenly reboot itself and or cannot be open. now my blackberry is working... thanks to them!
My Blackberry Bold 9700 will not load up. It goes from the screen where it says "Blackberry" loads for about 5 secs then shuts off and the red light comes back on. This just continues happening. If anyone could help I would appreciate it. Thanks
If charging the battery doesnt work, try removing it and then putting it back in, mine wouldnt turn on but i removed the battery and put it back in and the red light went bold and the blackberry loading screen popped up
i have a BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 and i have been having problems with it. it just blank. no lights or anything. I've tried changing the battery and charging it for a couple of days but it just doesn't work. if you have any suggestions or ideas that may help .??
Well the only ptobadlem I have with mine is the red light keep's flashing even though I don't have a message what does that mean. You also might try restarting it pulling the battery out then putting it back in and if the probadlem persist throw it out the window and get a new phone.
@qtdogs the reason why the red light is flashing is because maybe the police is watching your chat maybe you said something wrong that happend to me i talked to a guy that i was going to kill him but it was just a joke the next day i saw 2 police man infront of my door and explained everything to them and they let me go
Thanks everyone for the posts! Unfortunately this problem could not be solved yet! I sent to RIM and they told me that I have to change the phone's mother board! Isn't that a shame? For me the best solution was to replace my BBBold for an iPhone, which I feel much more safe knowing that Apple care more for their clients than RIM!

update your software from bb software you got with phone. my camera has just broke on my curve 8900. i have just downloaded the new software and although it never fixed my camera it has made my bb better and faster

Your just running out of memory. Try clearing your event log or pulling out the battery every once in a while
