@ silver760.. Im military police and do u really think its illegal for a police officer to chase a stolen vechile? No the force cannot just send helicopters to every chase, do you have any idea how much it costs to care for a eurocopter, buy all the equipment for it and so on.. Police officers trained in pursuit managment are very good at what they do and do so professionally. As for your comment that every officer consider themselves above the law thats stereotypical and not the case clearly

@fightingtemeraire ALL police officers consider themselves above the law,they break it regularly on a daily basis,just watch a police vehicle chase and spot the number of road law violations one officer commits,he may be in a chase but the rules still apply,there is no need to chase cars anymore with the advent of police helicopters,cctv+computer databases,fine them postaly.The way police handle the public breaks 100's of laws some going back 200 years,they are meant to be public servants

@silver760 It is not illegal for a constable to speed in order to apprehend a fleeing suspect. They have both lawful authority and reasonable excuse. You seem to be misguided about modern policing also. Not every force has air support available. You will not appear on the PNC unless you are known to the police. They can get your details from the DVLA with your number plate but I imagine it would be quite easy to give a false address, and number plates can be stolen or fake.

Some of these complaints are ridiculous, Domino's offer Police discount, why not investigate them. Secondly are the owners actually being told to discount Police or are they doing it voluntarily? It must be good publicity for the chinese to have Police visiting them, i know that the fire service get a lot of discounts with takeaways too!!!
