This guy is incompetent. The international "law" requiring nations not to deport detainees to countries where they may be tortured is the Geneva Convention. 90% of this video is opinion, not news or facts.
Likely, the torture chambers within these seemingly independent countries are US-designed and built, and the US has put pressure on these countries and provided them with training and equipment in order to host the torture the US wants to indulge in, just like in Latin America during the 70s and 80s. I doubt these countries would even be torturing were it not for that sort of US manipulation/pressure.
are u stupid? or racist? which is pretty much the same thing to me. Why dont you do a little research before you make yourself look that ignorant. i bet you didnt know that one of those ARABS is canadian. and he was tortured by the CIA because he MIGHT have been a terrorist. for a year he was tortured and at the end of it all they couldnt find any evidence to call him a terrorist.
I was born in USSR and now live in Russia. And I think that people should know if someone is arrested, as well as people should know if claims were false.
If it is not happenning, then power will be misused for personal and corporate interests. There will be a lot of blood eventually, but level of savety won't be significant. Trade off or deal with conscious simply won't give desirable result of order. That's just a fact without any right or left something. That's life.
The Real News will be covering issues in the SE Asian region. At this stage we are building a presence but don't have the capacity to produce news in all regions yet. This coverage will come.
I feel a bit lame, hit the wrong thumb in my first response on youtube. Sorry voiyour, meant to thumb up your comment. All we have in this report is some weak opinion being documented. Without facts, its all just hearsay.
Naming the USA and the CIA clouds the issue. The USA and CIA are not patrolling the streets of Europe and arresting people, their own governments are doing it. What happen to those people is the responsibility of those who did the arresting but it's much more comfortable to point the finger elsewhere. It is harder to fight against the government that is closer to home. We are doing it here and it's much harder than finding foriegn countries to blame.
I agree with earlier comments. You're making noise about an important and not-often-discussed issue.
But you need facts. Statistics. Names. Numbers. Visual aides that stick in viewers memories long enough to let them talk about this with others. Just a talking head spouting vague assertions and comments like "the CIA has rules governing its behaviour" is not enough to convert the skeptics or motivate the supporters.
Real News can't improve the corporate media by copying its methods.
i didn't learn anything new here. howbout some specifics. ie, 318 ppl have disappeared in xyz prison in egypt, 243 are known to have been released. where are these places? who's sending them? what's the policy? is it being followed? ... lose the generalities, report something new. find someone who's sent ppl or someone who's been there.
While the report is a bit weak on any actual precise info on the subject about any of those captured individuals whereabouts or last know details, its still a critical issue that should never be forgotten, wich most likely will happen.

Please address the issues that Stephen Grey raises specifically rather than resort to personal attacks that don't further discussion.

useridon, I agree with you. Opinion is a treason. He has an opinion.

I must agree with the various other comments here.
This is a very serious issue and it's right that you're bringing it to people's attention.
But it's presented as a "talking head" opinion piece.
It's vague on specifics, low on facts and figures, it's even a little rambling and has nothing visual but the reporter to focus on.

We want truth, not ideology. Facts, not opinion. Specifics, not generalities.
We know how to think - thank you but we require no assistance with that - so stop telling us what we should think and just report what is.
Factually, objectively, without bias.
That is "real news".

I see you would rather be manipulated by brainwashers than to have an open discussion on policy. No thanks.

Tell me something I haven't known for more than five years... especially if you are going to call it 'news'.
