Obama is a Christian who recognizes a woman's choice in the matter and recognizes that his Christian faith ultimately doesn't inform public policy and legislation for the entire country. While he may personally not support abortion because of his faith he can't impose that religious sentiment on all other Americans.

In your interpretation and opinion. There have been other historical disagreements over the nature of a "true" Christianity. You have Christ in common with these churches and their congregations. They use their Church for work within their communities, in a way that appeals to the people within those communities, to create social change and while that may arguably not define Christ's message it doesn't contradict it either. They are grounded in scripture.

He left because of the clear disagreement he has with the controversial comments made by Wright. Comments that don't conform with his own beliefs and ideas. That is clear to all who review Obama's own statements and acts over the years. He has never advocated the devisiveness that Wright displayed in his most controversial comments. When they became more outrageous and when he repeated them in public the balance tipped and Obama distanced himself from his pastor and Church. Still a Christian.

Obama personally has also stated repeatedly that he does and while he chose that church because of its good works and social message in his community he has also denounced the racial and divisive nature of some of its spokespeople. That is exactly where his own words and actions differ from the comments by Wright.

Regardless of the veracity of the claims you make about all those people about their character and their relationships with Obama you would have to accept that no Christian is perfect and free of sin. Whether or not he is the right candidate for you is a different matter than deciding that he isn't a Christian. He is by the criteria you just posted to which he conforms. An other distortion and exaggeration. He voted against formulations of a Bill that were so broad that they would have taken away the option of Abortion altogether and eroded Roe v Wade. He does however support legislation that requires the provision of medical care for babies regardless of how they are born and supports abortion procedures that can aide viable fetuses. He voted in favor of Bills that took all these into consideration.
