K the dude with the tambourine is priceless he's just tripping around the stage and is like oh what's this I found..... Looks like some pretty good drugs!!!
@goodguyradio lol...yeah, and unlike today`s "Musicians" none of them died from their lifestyle or went to rehab because they wanted to help their carear... Bill died of cancer and George was in a motorcycle accident...the rest of the band is still alive...old as shit, but still alive.
That's why America never took them seriously...pity, because if you listen to Shel Silversten's lyrics on the albums, you'll hear poetry. They defined a kinder, more caring decade. .The best then... and stil the best now!
i saw dr.hook (ray )last year in concert .his son was on the drums and he still put on a great show ..this would have been the tenth time i had seen them over the year
How in the world did Dennis think he could make it big, when no one on this continent could pronounce his last name? Dennis Liqueur would have been nice -- would have fit his liquid voice. A defining moment – affecting music lovers for all time. (Jessejames Locorriere, are you listening? Likewise, Nicole Locorriere?)
Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show was NOT a good name for this band. It conjured up the idea of a pirate, focusing on Ray who wore the eye patch. Their best and lead singer was definitely Dennis Locorriere, who still is the best white soul singer on the planet.
@gttdkt Who cares if it wasn't the greatest name. They were what they were and I probably wouldn't have even discovered them if they didn't have that messed up name.
Music history would have been very different had this band used a different name, AND if Dennis would have used a stage name. There would have been no stopping them. . . . Names make a difference. They could have been bigger than the Beatles.
hi my names james but u can call me spud this is my sons accont but im usein it i met these guy a longggg time a go i helped hem out bc they were on there way 2 1 of there concerts and there van broke down in front of my house i loved it they even took me with them 2 the concert but tht was wen is was 36 now im 52
Shel wrote my life in his music. Dr. Hook still sings to me today. Fun to sad crazy to dead serious this band is my hearts billboard and my lifetime favorite.
This is when they could still use "The Medicine Show" lost that when they lost everything else, got to keep Dr. Hook because of Ray, they got cleaned up not long after they lost half their name. Crazy!
What happend to my sweet lil band of Hooks? This is too funny and I always loved them, but what the heck!! At my age nothing shocks me, as they were always my favorite group way back when. Somehow this song got passed me and I just found it. Wiped out? YES, but love the song.
The first song I every heard from them was "I was stoned and I missed it". I have watched videos like this than ones from years later when they were clean. I have to say, they are very entertaining.
@goodfriar REALLY, REALLY, REALLY stoned. LMFAO the whole time !!! But I think if they tried this song nowadays they'd get shot ! Can you say fags and dikes in a song. WOW !!!
@mjpanek68 - Yeah prior to the mid 90's you could, then the political correct nazi's told us how to talk. Devo had a song called "Monogoloid", now you refer to one as a "special needs child". That was Clinton's doing.
lmfao wow....good song XD you know they were on somethin when they sang this cause theyre all *giggle* roll somethin to take along *giggle giggle* ahaha yeah....
I love this! These guys are crazy. We actually had one of these when I was young. What a blast from the past!

The band strikes quite a contrast with the squares in the audience... Guaranteed no on in that audience went to the Freaker's ball.
