I want it to be real but unfortunately...watch the building on the far side of the pier that the jumper appears to go behind. Then look under the pier at the same building and you'll see that the water reveals it's actually located in the far background. In the view above the pier the jumper appears to "go behind" the building, but then magically appears "in front of" the building when you see him re-emerge at splashdown - in the view under the pier. If the BBC covered this, they were had.

@kevin120857 Seeing as the building is on the pier he would disappear behind it. If you have a problem believing it then look on Google maps. Worthing is not in a bay, therefore for that building to be in the background it would have had to have been built in the sea which, I'm sure you would agree, would not be very bright.

Saw a pier jumper / parasailer recently on one of those shows like "extreme videos" or something like that. He made the jump a few times then on the last attempt the wind died down and he BIFFED right into one of the pilings above the roofline, then was dragged off the roof by the parachute and BIFFED again on the pier. Broke hip, ribs, arm, leg, etc. OUCH!!!
