I for one think that this video was well made but in the same token one sided. I'm Argentinian and I for one don't think that most Argentinians are racists. Ignorance is like a plague and the more relevance you give it, the more it materializes into a realtiy. I am well aware of the Afro-Argentine contribution to Argentinina and it's beautiful.. unfortunately there are those who are closed minded and give the rest of Argentines a bad reputation. Congo tribes would often revolt and kill there captures upon arrival...So traders would go to the exterior regions for more docile tribes. Tango indeed has its roots in Africa.
Tango today is very popular in Europe and that's why you probably think it is more European. It has been touched by Europe but the foundation is African.
But, the tango started in poor barrios amongst Afro-Argentines and most commonly were men dancing with men (although if you looked at it from a perspective of only today, you wouldn't have thought it).

Most Afro-Argentines are descendants of Afro-Argentine slaves, following with the descendants of Cape Verdeans and Afro-Uruguayans as the two largest minorities in the Afro-Argentine community.

There is also immigration of Afro Brazilians who have helped boost and maintain the Afro Argentinean prescence! Also Cape Verdeans and other Afrodescendants and Africans have immigrated to Argentina as well!

I see that ignorance is not exclusive to Argentina, travels the world. in Argentina we are more than 2 million stem colonial Afro-Argentines of African descent, ie descendants of African slaves arrived in Argentina. we are talking about a process that lasted more than three centuries and since then the African population has half-breed point of disappearing black skin color, this contributed to the belief that disappeared.

Many of the Afro Argentines DID NOT DISAPPEAR! THAT IS A LIE! Many did die from revolutionary independence wars! BUT that is not true~!
