Whatever autoracks do have good graffiti on em but usually only on the EC; out West there are so many of them that half of them get toyed (except for King 157.) And they're not always yellow, either. I've painted green ones and blue ones as well as standard yellow Holey Rollers.
auto RACKs are the big yellow car with holes in them, they carry automobiles. And they have some of the best graffiti art on them than any other type of freight car.
I love CN!! When I did a railfan trip back east last year I was trackside for a CN train running from Dubuque, IA to Chicago, ILL on the old IC line near Rockford, ILL...I took some great film but my movie program is on the fritz :(
I agree!! It's already been 14 years since SP was swallowed up..As the years go by it will be harder and harder to find their rolling stock..Here in Northern California their boxcars are still commonplace.
@BlowoutBob Don't forget the SD9043MACs, they're the first size of then AC6000CWs, but they're both brute beast machines. Too bad both of them have tech issues making them decrease powers & having the same hp like there counterparts the SD70MACs & AC4400CWs.
@Gangsterbowser If I remember right it's about 9 or ten per row. It also depends on if it's a tri-level, for cars, or a bi-level, for pickups and vans. I'm not sure how many fit in the new articulated auto rack, you know the ones that look like one and a half put together. Those were made for Toyota and Honda to haul the SUV's in, but now I think that all manufacturers use them for their SUV's. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
It is unusual for a countryside secondary road without much traffic to have overhead signals. Here in Michigan, state highways are pretty much the only two-lane countryside roads that have warning signal setups like this.
Another nice video. FYI Brent, there is a cantilever crossing on this line north of Mukwonago that as of May 30 still had a Safetran mechanical bell. I'm not sure of the name right offhand but I think it's a county highway. The end of the siding on the north edge of Mukwonago is just visible looking to the south from it.
I know where that is... I want to say it's CTH X. Just like this crossing, CN installed a pair of gates after they took over. Honey Lake road, north of Burlington, is ungated and still has a mechanical bell as well. Kind of uncommon for the CN.
I'm pretty sure there's plenty of locomotives bigger than the C44 in terms of size, horsepower, and tractive effort. Hell, the DD40 beats it in all but TE, and it doesn't lose by much there, either.
1:46 I recognized that graffiti art haha saw that car in my area last year in February.

97 cars that took for ever!!!!!

It sounded like the cars may have been empty. Wouldn't having weight (cars) in them dampen the sound somewhat?
