About his arms: I think they were his real arms at first, and then at certain times hid them behind his back and under his cape. He had some metal arm coverings that came off when Tim Curry hit them. At one point, Tim Curry blocks everyone's view of the black knight's right arm for a few seconds, right before knocking it off his body. I'm pretty sure that's when he puts his arm behind his back.
