  • how far along the southern headland in maroubra to you dive?

  • how deep where you diving down? goodwork on the fish!! great catch!

  • should see this mowie i speared a couple of weeks ago, had a massive bite out of its back which had healed up so mustve happened awhile ago... didnt notice til i'd shot it... still delicious :)

  • What size gun were u using?

  • Good video. Show the clips where you pull the fish up. Also careful with Mowies. Only 5 are allowed. Keep uploading

  • the last one was like BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM in ya face =)

  • where was this??

  • @ak74u2, I think i filmed all those vids on the xmas holidays, it is south maroubra and north bondi

  • @SpearfishingSydney oh ok cheers i live in sydney to

  • nice footage and great fish!!!! what sort of camera are you using, is it a go pro head mount or what???? cheers

  • @toddels9972, the camera is a tachyoninc, and the footage is quite good in the laptop, somehow it looses when uploaded to youtube. but I WON'T RECOMMEND this camera, it mounts much better than the Go Pro, and is compact, easy to use... awesome, BUT the battery life is short unless you use Original AAA Ultimate Lithium, meaning 32$ per dive. If u use rechargeables as I do, they last half. I get 1 hour and 50 minutes recording, in the NO HD version. In the HD I would guess than around 1 hour.

  • So no point getting this camera, in my opinion till they improve the recording time

  • that king is under size ya twat

  • Wicked Shooting mate, nice fish well Done!

  • Some pretty tough shots on those bonnies. Nice vid.

  • hey mate just a quick question when u were targeting those kings and bonito, do u turn your head or try to not make eye contact with the fish? i have heard that that doesnt make them spook as easy. is that the type of technique u use?

    another great video btw

    Cheers

  • I have read / heard about it, however i am not very sure.

I always try to go down gliding and then move slowly on the bottom with the gun hidden on my chest, rather than approaching the fish in diagonal with the gun out. I have noticed that it makes a difference, about the whole eye contact, I don't think it makes a different in the case of the bonito because i always have to chase them from behind, not sure about the Kingfish though because they are truly smart and inquisitive

  • nice vid mate, me and my mate are new to this wicked sport, and we wanan try south maroubra, we've been lapa, kurnell and shell harbour, know any other spots to try?

  • If you are really starting, a good spot is also Long bay (Malabar) from the Pool, sometimes the water is not very clean, but is quite easy to jump in and out. You can park the car also in the pool and walk through the golf course to the point, there is path to go down and easy to jump there. In that point is some 20 metres deep and there is always heaps of trevallys and now kingfish as well, shot one today there off the south head in Malabar.

    Good luck guys...

  • red mowies are slow moving slow growing fish, shoot one or two not wipe the whole population! you obviously have the ability to shoot more technically difficult fish, use it

  • Sorry man, didn't pretend to offend anybody... we have seen this years heaps of them compared with the last couple of years. We never shot anything small than the legal size or waste any fish, but i'll bear on mind your coment, thanks for it.

  • nice!! where abouts in sydney is this ?

  • Thanks man, it is south Maroubra.
