Great setup man. If you just got into this amazing hobby congrats. I've been in this hobby for awhile and the bigger the tank the better, every experienced hobbiest knows this. I went from a 200g down to a 16 finally. (it takes skill and determination to achieve such a small tank.) I also have a 5g freshwater tank with 5 very small fish. But my saltwater tank has a reef octopus bh-100 skimmer with 3 pounds of live rock, vortech mp10, fluval E50 heater, marine capable led light 24in along with 2
@Dnorwood1987 hey D after i build the individual panels i used magnets on the back of the board so it will stay fixed to the metal stand.... very simple and cheap to build..
@bikeboss11 Interesting: I am building a stand with a metal frame like that, Maybe I'll use magnets. I was going to use hinges and make doors. The magnets seem to work well.
@AquaticCastle hey A to me its the best thing since sliced bread, you get the look of a wooden stand and the accessibility and strength of a metal stand all in one, so go for it and if u have any concerns feel free to message me
Dude, nice tank. Dont let anyone get you down. No matter how good your tank is someone will shit on it. Everyone that is in this hobby knows that you have to start somewhere and if they say the have not made mistakes then they havn't learnt anything. Keep us posted with new updates. It is always good to see how people are going.
2 weeks old and you already have fish in it!!!!!!! holy shit what is wrong with you! poor fish are going to die. slow down and take your time before your entire tank crashes. and get yourself a real test kit, those test strips are horrible. do some research before jumping into this hobby please. i feel so bad for anything going into this setup
@aisnow320 hey a thx for yur concern man but am afraid u r slightly wrong on yur assumptions.....1st the tank is not a new setup its jus been two weeks since its been given to me......2nd damsels, piece of shrimp, live rock and additives are all different ways that is used to cycle yur tank, "to each his own"....3rd the fact that a test kit is gud or not is no fault of mines, take that up with the manufactures finally maybe u shud actually post a video/s to show us rookies how it shud be done
@bikeboss11 I think what Aisnow320 is saying is its wrong to use the "fish Cycle" Method. Thats all. As you said there are many methods to "Cycle" a tank. Many people have stopped using Fish to cycle their tanks. Its Very detrimental to the fish. as for the test kits your using, They do suck. They aren't very accurate at all. All aisnow320 is saying is you might want to use different kits. Nice tank though. Just figured I would sum it up a bit. Keep it up!
@camaroryder hey C i totally understand what u saying, my problem was with the way in which he said it to me..... i came in to this hubby not knowing anything and jus like most people am learning as i go along.... the fishes are still alive and i have since upgraded most of my test kits to salifert....thx 4 yur advice and concern i appreciate it
hey T the skimmer was a berlin hang on d back 25-250 and it was ran by a mag 5 pump....... since then i have replaced it with an AquaC ev 180 and i am using a mag 9 pump with it....... thx for yur help buddy
What kind of skimmer are you using and what size poump is driving it? I had a hard time with my old school Berlin Skimmer and my old school Oceanic Series 6 but after playing with them I got them figured out.
