  • I love her so much. Such an elegant, humble, classy, beautiful, kind lady. Favorite actress of all time, and one of the people I most admire.

  • Nominated actresses today should be given this clip as a lesson on how to conduct yourself. I always admired BARBARA and this just seals the deal.

  • A true class act. She always thanked the crew when she got an award, was always humble. She was a true star, a fantstic actress and a beautiful person. So called stars today should take note. She remained a star and always will be. Everyone she ever worked with had nothing but good things to say about her. She always remained grounded and down to earth. A TRUE LADY

  • Class, class and more class. No one can match that today.

  • when tv was best!

  • That embrase between Robert Wagner and Barbara Stanwick was real. She was an original cougar, They had a two year affair he was 22 she 42.

  • Great lady

  • this video gets me teary eyed, so wonderful to see one beautiful, classy and talented actress compliments another in such a genuine and elegant way.

  • fantastic actress

  • what a wonderful actress.

  • Very few stars have as much class as Barbara Stanwyck. She's perfection.

  • I wondered why Robert Wagner spent so long hugging Ms. Stanwyck until I saw another video where he confesses to an affair with the legend early in his career. They loved each other once!

  • Ms. Stanwyck set many aged women free when she declared her attraction to the priest stating despite the fact of her age she had a young heart desiring affection before kissing him. A whole lot of seasoned citizens got free that night! I was in my 20s screaming at the set during that scene and the other taboo scenarios.. And there wasn't enough tissue for the tears.. Everyone had issues...

  • Nice to see Robert Wagner give her that big embrace and kiss. Didn't he admit they had an affair back in the 1950"s? She was a cougar!

  • Missy had an eye for talent!

  • You can see how Robert Wagner still has great affection for her here! I love this.

  • bARBARA sTANWYKE AN AMAZING ACTRESS AND HOW MYUCH KORE SPECIAL TO RECEIEVE AN ACCOLADE FROM HER THAN THE ACADEMY FOR ANN-MARGRETS TRULY AMAZING DRAMATIC PERFORMANCE......... FINALLY - ANN-MARGRET WON AN EMMY HER 6TH NOMINATION THIS PAST SATURDAY AUGUST 20TH. LOOKING GORGEOUS - GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT AS AS WELL AS A MUCH DESERVED STANDING OVATION

  • Barbara Stanwyck is beloved by everyone who worked with her. Crews on films adored her down to earth attitude and this is just another example of the class she posessed.

  • Barbara Stanwyck, the epitome of class and grace. RIP angel.

  • why is there a dog on stage?

  • @VTMCompany The presenters (Lionel Stander, Stefanie Powers and Robert Wagner) were from the TV series Hart to Hart, including the Hart's dog, Freeway.

  • Barbara Stanwyck and Ann - Margret are 2 wonderful ladies and have class as well as beauty ! This was wonderful to see again .

  • There is this nice new video from Breton2Robert called: Sensuously, Softly Sultry Carole Lombard. Nice piece of work

  • Thanks for posting this. I have been wanting to see this again since I first saw it live back in 1983. At that time, I had not remembered ever seeing anyone be so gracious on an award show. Barbara Stanwyck was one classy dame, indeed, and Ann-Margret was equally gracious in her acceptance of Stanwyck's wonderful sentiment. I know it's cliche, but it's true...they just don't make them like this anymore!

  • Lovely!

  • Anyone who thinks Beyonce calling out Taylor Swift to finish her speech at the VMA's is the essence of class should check out this clip. It really takes a lot of humility to use your winning moment to demonstate you were not only the winner in the house.

  • Amen! Barbara was beautiful here, as always!

  • @JONROSE44 And she got applauded by three people...

  • I couldn't agree more. That's the difference between the stars of yesterday and today. They had CLASS!

  • Hollywood will finally gain credibility when it awards the Barbara Stanwyck Life Achievement Award. Only then.

  • This was also the ceremony Cheers competed for the first time and won Series, Actress and Supporting Acress. Joan Rivers and Eddie Murphy were the hosts and people worried Murphy would let go with some profanity, but he was a complete gentlemen. The surprises cames from Rivers, slipping in 'goddamn' here and there, and lighting up the NBC switchboard. The critics gave her hell the next day.

  • Like that kiss from Wagner, who last year revealed his affair with a much older Stanwyck when they were on the set of Titanic.

  • Thanks jmrssn,

I thought that was a rather long peck on the cheek & wondered what the message was! lol

  • I just saw that movie the other day! I'm not surprised; both were gorgeous, and Stanwyck was far classier than Wagner's love interest in the movie. I bet that classy "broad from Brooklyn" showed him a thing or two. I'm jealous; I've always adored Wagner!

  • Music from The Thorn Birds was the best. Listening to it brings back memories when I watched The Thorn Birds with my family. The best mini-series of all time.

  • What class. She remembered to thank the crew, then basically said "Ann-Margaret, you should have won." Barbara gets my vote for the best actress of all time.

  • My favorite scene of hers is the final scene in Stella Dallas, my God she was good. And of course, in Titanic, she was wonderful. She said re the scene where she is in the lifeboat being lowered into the Atlantic, looking up she thought of the real event and the real people who perished and her tears were genuine, it just hit her with such force, that this was not just a movie, it had been all too real.

  • I still remember seeing that live, and thought that was a class act! My mother always hated Ann-Margaret, though, because she was once an actress and had inside info on her that was not so nice!

  • @binkle1 hey binkie. I am sorry no one ever heard of your mother as an actress but as someone who has met Ann-Margret several times and have seen her go out of her way to make people feel very special, your mother's "inside opinion" sounds more like jealousy. There is never any dirt on Ann-Margret because the woman is the definition of class.

  • A truly great star, one of the finest actresses of all time...

  • Hearing that beautiful music from The Thorn Birds again it reminds me how I felt that night watching this award show, and then they didn't give the award to Henry Mancini for that gorgeous score I was so angry I screamed and threw pillows at my tv screen! They gave the award to The Executioner's Song and who the hell remembers the score from that today? Everyone recognizes The Thorn Birds melodies.

  • good for her to be so gracious to Ann Margret, whose performance was also remarkable that year.

  • I wish I gotten to know her personally.

  • me too!

  • Elegant, gracious, classy.

  • Yes, she was perfect in every way as an actress and a wonderful human being!

  • Very nice. You can see the love that everyone had for her. RJ and her I sure was very close entil she died. Sad for him that someone so dear is no longer with him

  • Nice to see Stephanie, and I love the way Wagner hugs Stanwyck! And Ann-Margaret is stunning!

  • It's great to see Stefanie as a presenter! :)

  • And as of today . .we know that Stanwyck and Wagner at one time had a 4-year relationship, makes watching this snippet all the more delicious.

  • Seriously. It brought a little tear to my eye to think of what that moment must have been like for both wagner and stanwyck and what's odd is she won for playing a character in love with a younger man. Her performance in the Thornbirds, to me, stands out as one of the greatest performances of all time in any medium. Hands down.

  • There have been many award speeches but rarely do we ever hear the recipient spend much time on praising another's performance... and the pattern seems to indicate that only the best of bests pay such tributes on stage. Kudos to Barbara Stanwyck! She's the best.

  • I'm in my twenties but still I love Barbara Stanwyck. She, along with a handful of other actresses fron the Golden Age of Hollywood, remain the indellible actors that trnacend time. It's great to see these rare clips of our "Missy" receiving the long overdue recognition for a stellar career during the last decade of her life. She certainly deserved all the accolades!

  • PLEASE .....

Have you Richard Chamberlain also ???

Will you uploaded for me ,PLEASE ??

    Jettie66

  • love her too!!! Always nice words for her crews and that words for ann margret

a terrible lady and a wonderfull actress

standing ovation for that little girl from brooklyn!

  • ops.....of course not a terrible lady but a terrific one: excellent, great, special...As I said I love her very very much

  • LOVE HER! And I love how she mentions Ann-Margret.

  • Yes indeed she was one classy lady!

  • How beautiful. Barbara Stanwyck transcends class. It's easy to see by her humility and kindness why people used to love working on her films wether it be as her cost star or grip.
