what a heat gun is like a SUPER hair drier. by putting heat on a glued object it will make it unglued. he wants to preserved the box so there is no ripping or tears when he opens it.

dude do u own a crimson ds lite? their screens are sh*t. i heard there's a very ugly yellowish tint on the touch screen. it's all over the places just google it and dozens of ppl have threads talking about how much the old crimson ds lite's screen's suck..thank god i live in asia....ice blue ds the best. someting about a production run and the screens were being used for cellphones or something not sure

The gold ds has clear plastic over it like the white one. its glossy and its a very nice gold, i like it its easy one the eye

The red and black DS lites had complaints of the screen being dark and yellow tinted. Is this the same case with the zelda DS?

My Black Ds developed a yellow tint that you could see when whites were displayed. This happened over time with the black ds and not out of the box. This gold one is exhibiting no yellow tint out of box. I do know a thing or 2 about lcds and how they operate. The bulbs as the backlights create heat and must change the plastic reflector properties resulting in yellowing. Hence, cheap plastic reflectors. Ive seen that the cause for dirty whites in pc lcd monitors.

Its good.. It weird the top and bottom are slippery.. my only other complaint is I thought the gold color wasnt strong enough.. i like the deeper gold like in the majoras mask n64 cart ect..

Yes, the heat gun is used to strip paint.. so its much hotter then your hair dryer.. although a hair dryer still may work..
