If you read the instructions on the ShamWoW, you are supposed to ring it out with warm water 2-3 times, to properly condition it, it looks like you did this test with one right out of the box, conditioning it gets rid of that yellow color.

Also, you can't over saturate the ShamWoW and expect it not to drip.

Though I thought it was "sham" too, simply because most infomercials are crappy products in person, but it does work if you use it right...I don't think the reviewer used it at all like instructed. You have to regularly wring it out which is a pain, but do it in a sink, or outside.

..Also, it being a bed pan...I'm not so sure the towel made the water yellow.

Just for the record, the instructions do state that, in order to enable full usability, you must rinse with warm water and wring out 2-3 times. Lack of doing so will result in less than desirable results.
