agree with abhimanyu5. Getting a college degree doesn't always mean doors opening for you, networks, and having a job waiting for you. DEFINITELY NOT 100%. It was true 10 or 20 years ago but things have changed drastically thanks to Bush and power hungry people who have destroyed the economy.
What a stupid video. People who went to school especially higher education are stupid with money. They think it's normal to be in debt. Being in debt is being a slave, but i guess college doesn't teach them that. A degree doesn't guarantee crap. Higher education = higher debt
@jgtheman84 The experience of the time spent might be wonderful, but the return (worth) of the time/money/effort is definitely not worth it! With many college degrees unmarketable, high competition, overseas market, debt to worry about--definitely not worth it! But high school guidance counselors and others still push it!
It's funny how many blue collared Americans act like they're against college degrees. Hahaha! It's very ironic to me.
Hmm, do manual intense labor for a career where the peak pay usually never escapes middleclass... orrrrrrrrrr... get a bachelors degree or higher from a decent school to obtain a career that you enjoy as well as make more money. Tough choice, eh?
It is not worth it. You better off go to a vocational school or something. First, you will start wokring quicker and you graduate with no student loans. Plus, you may make more money than with a bachelor's degree. For example, person A went to school to become a mecanic and persion B for BA Business. 10 yerars from high school, person A would have made 8*50,000=400,000 but person B would have made 5*50,000 - 4*25,000 = 150,000. That's bad if you are 30 years old.
The degree, the education and the experience are all valuable things. But are in no way worth the Cost!!!! College advertising is as bad a the Military, one has you on Delta force the other has you a millionair, all misleading, terribly misleading. I'd rather cigarette compaines advertise again if it ment college was exposed for the scam it is.
If you don't have a rich daddy who can pay your way, go to a community college or votech school first and get a marketable skill. Then, if you are unusually bright and want to become a doctor, MBA or lawyer, it may be worth going on to get a professional degree.
@abhimanyu5 Maybe it's a lie, or more so not 100% of degrees relate to it. And of course students may not have a job waiting for them... but, obviously college grads get paid way more on average compared to those without a degree.
you gotta choose a realistic major such as nursing, business administration or engineering...not communications, philosophy, sociology or art or drawing.....nice..but be real....go to a university in your state not another state...plan to live at home instead of being strapped for cash renting or co-renting a place or the stupid idea of dorms room and board.....buy books cheaper online by finding ahead of time what books you will need, etc.....
public education and college idolization is making the American people into brainless conformist zombies that are tearing the economy apart!!! We are living in a collegetatorship. By the way I am a community college student and I deduce this from my experiences I don't need anyone to tell me this.
the one million statistic takes into account everone that goes to college, even those lucky bastards that earn $2 million a year, so the average is driven out of proportion
there is no correlation between going to college and living a healthy lifestyle...it is a logical fallacy linking two things together that have no relationship
I went to college for six years and got a masters in journalism, then ended up doing an apprenticeship so i could get a real job
Even some of the College Board members said the million dollar figure was inaccurate, wow a contradiction straight from the source itself smh

Dont do it. The universities are pure money machines. They cheat people and are laughing all the way to the bank.

the 1 million figure is a LIE !!
it is nonsense that is fed to mainstream society. getting a university degree does NOT mean that there will be a job waiting for you.
