A stand in or not this child has performed this aria with excellence. Many do not realize how demanding this aria is and he is to be congratulated for not only just getting through it in one piece but doing to remarkably well in the process.Comfortable ? My knees would be knocking !!!!

Das wichtigste ist doch immer wieder und so sollte es auf Ewigigkeit sein: Auf den Inhalt kommt es an und das kommt in dieser Aufzeichnung sehr gut bis perfekt rüber! Die Szene rund um Nikolaus Harnoncourt besser dessen Erben werden es weiter tragen!

Wo kämen wir denn hin wenn wir alle Namen nennen würden.... Doch das ist egal denn: Bei den Tölzern singt Jeder wenn es darauf ankommt den Solo Part! Ein Jeder und jeder Einzelne! Ich bin in dieser Zeit aufgewachsen und kenne somit Helmut aber auch Allan, sehr gut! Mein Vater selbst hat Aufnahmen mit Allan gesungen.... Und heute ist es bei Gerhard nicht anders! Jeder von den Jungs hat somit eine "geile" "wunderbare" "zarte " Stimme! Wie "ALLE" jungen Knaben auf dieser Welt oder diesem Planet

@angryjalapeno. - This part was of course designed for the greatest Tölzer soprano soloist of that time - of all times?! - Allan Bergius, and the only 12-year-old Helmut Wittek had to "step up" as a late stand-in when Bergius was withdrawned.

Ich komme heute auf dieses Video, da die Auffführung gestern auf BibelTV gesendet wurde. Sie ist auf DVD

z.B. bei Amazon erhältlich, übrigens zu "Spottpreisen"...:(.

This 1985 performance and related recording are regarded by many as one of the best, if not THE best of the Johannes Passion. Listen to it again and to other sections, especially "Es ist vollbracht..." The wind players and Toelzer choir soloists are incredible.

It is a oboe da caccia; a 'hunting' oboe. Sort of a baroque hybrid between an oboe and a horn.

Credo che questa tonalità sia troppo alta per il ragazzino che infatti fatica nelle note piu alte e poi mi pare che sia molto emozionato,beh provateci voi a cantare una si fatta aria. Comunque molto molto bravo :-))))

emozionato non credo, si tratta di Helmut Wittek, un professionista del genere a suo tempo, forse stanco visti gli impegni ai quali era sottoposto a quei tempi quando il Tölzer Knabenchor ebbe molto successo registrando, tra i tanti lavori, i mottetti di Schuetz. Adesso è ingegnere del suono alla Schoeps Mikrofone GmbH a Karlsruhe, ma per 16 anni ha fatto parte del coro come solista prima e insegnante dopo. E poi il maestro Gaden è un grande professionista, l'ho conosciuto nel 98 a Locarno.
