I can't think of one song these guys did that didn't blow my sox off. What a dynamic band!!! Makes you want to just put on a duster and a fedora and strut down the street.
when i did this and rap on it then rob base stole the song from me but it was fun taking him to court but i tell you the band name brown and swerve remind me so much of the gap band
Youngster - this song 'aint' meaningful whatsoever - it just has a great beat and an outstanding vocalist. Soulful and fun - that's all. Nothing 'deep' about why all us true RnB'ers love Charlie Wilson.
Those of you old enough to have been around in the 80s how lucky were we to have sounds like this to go jammin to at weekends great era and memories funkin great track.
DAMN! I OWE MY WHOLE DJ CAREER TO THIS MAN...This used to be my signature track at the start of the nite...ONLY WISH THIS MAGIG COULD RUB OFF ON TODAYS MUSIC...DJA
Yea guys the older I get (36)...I truly miss good real music like Gap Band, Prince, Sade, to even Jimmy Cliff, Sly & Robbe, The Clash, early Aerosmith, Thin Lizzy, and Bad Brains. Soul, Funk, Punk, New Wave, Reggae, and Hard Rock was always my faves!!!!
Good music is good music!!!
Not like the new Rap like TI, Lil Wayne, Ludacris, Kanye, & Jaz Z crap. Or My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, or Linkin Park bullshit!!!!
This was one of the mainstay R&B songs of the 80's, and I LOVE 80's music. The Gap Band had some hits back in the day, and I remember when this song, along with "Early in the Morning", and "Party Train" were both played on the radio and their videos were played on TV.
The 80's were a great time to be alive. This group "brought the funk" before that phrase was cool. LONG LIVE THE 80's!!!!!
the Gap Band is DA SHIT!!! everytime & I do mean everytime they come to the D, u can believe we up in there jammin!!! seen them 5x and aint ti-red yet
Dude this waz like 1995-1996 or so... I remember video tapping this one and all the others to follow... LOL I was only 7 or 8 years old then. This was Sinbads 2nd 70's soul festival on HBO I think there was 5 of them cuz the last 1 was PPV. Great show though....Hard lesson learned don't let anyone borrow your classic video tapes.....
Ladies and Gentlemen, this video is a true lesson in soul/funk/R&B music. And true musicianship.
