@beedizzyroy I'm no analyst for sure, but in my opinion, the narrator is singing about a person who withholds happiness from him--sometimes this person is happy, and decides to let the narrator "see the sky," sometimes the person's unhappy, more often then not, and won't "share the sky." The narrator seems to hope each day that this person will be cheerful and happy again. I myself fancy that it's about struggling with depression.

The writer probably describe his feelings that maybe matched with the sky's appearance during the time it's written (The sky a purple cry, a philarmonic sigh). Probably it's also a gloomy day, a rainy day to be specific. Pouring with his tears is the rain, yet in his heart he has hopes that one day he'll be happy again, and that the sky will be blue and bright again.=)
It lightly touches the more fragile spot in your soul.
