But look at US News, a list based completely on academics and cost having no factor. Cal's #1 public (21 overall), Virginia is #2 (23 overall), my Wolverines (yeah, I'm not a Bear) are tied with UCLA for 4th (25 overall).

Florida? 17th public 49th overall. Shut up.

Doesn't mean OSU is a bad school, it's just not a good value for what it's worth. Princeton review ranks UF at 47 and OSU ranks at 57. The desparity in standards isn't that great, but the ticket price and value is.

Just so you know, Gator and Buckeye fans,the Kiplinger reports the "best value" in public education, not the best education. Florida grants more scholarships and aid and is generally less expensive than most good public universities. It is a great school as well. Florida gives a grade A education that isn't as expensive as the others.
