He complains about pipe organs and how unnecessary they are, but his digital organs are made of recorded pipe organ sounds. I think the whole digital organ thing is interesting, but to scorn and scoff at pipe organs is pedantic and arrogant. He NEEDS them to produce the sounds he's after on the digital organ. He's so full of himself. Yes, he's a good musician, but his attitude makes him impossible for me to listen to. There are many other fine, fine organists who don't come with his baggage.
@jensaks Thank God that Cameron is willing to carry this baggage to the world. As most organists are rapidly rushing into the 18th century, Carpenter sees a vision and sound for the 21st century. If you know him, you would realize rather soon that his is NOT full of himself, but amazingly humble. It is his brilliance that shines in both his discourse and his musical imagination. Bravo, Cameron.
Ill admit that he's talented in certain respects, extremely so, but he is not one of the modern greats, not by a long shot. Ian Tracey is the chap the see! And Im sorry but whats with the cross dressing on the organ console, I know hes of alternate sexuality but really?
@IRememberTheOldDays Cameron reminds me so much of Liberace 50 years ago: no-one liked him when he first started out either, but just think of all the joy he gave to so many people over the years! He just blew the lid off concertising and the piano, and brought it to life, just like Cameron is doing now, for the organ!
@jazzy6307 Liberace comes to mind, but Carpenter doesn't need a string orchestra backing him. He's the whole show, self sufficient, carrying 100% of the music by himself. I like his "Jingle Bells" on itty bitty Casio keyboards, too.
The audio quality of this video detracts from what it presents. It should be redone so that it can be fairly heard with even mediocre quality speakers or earbuds.
@MrRicksStudio Cylinders and other primitive media, such as wire recordings, stand on their own merit as a "miracle" in themselves for the simple fact of what they preserve. It would be wonderful to hear the Brahms in pristine quality, but I'm just tickled to hear it as it is. Like the "patina" on a statue, there is something altogether quite charming about it, presented in its "native" state.
@dieselheart001 My point is, that someone recorded this privately on primitive equipment. If Carpenter had it recorded for his own use, perhaps there are other recordings in better quality floating around. But were it not for prople making private recordings, we would not have such treasures as Joseph Villa's Rachmaninoff Second Sonata, for example. Villa never recorded this commercially.
@MrRicksStudio I agree. From that point of reference, yes, this does make sense. If CC had recorded it, whether professionally or privately, it would have probably been of a better quality. And there are most likely much better copies of the audio performances herein "floating around". And I soundly (no pun intended... lol)
agree with your observation on private recordings and Villa's Rachmanioff 2nd, and admire your presentation of these points. Thank you, and happy holidays, good sir!!
I think its great to see someone not taking life to serious....a gay organist?? Next someone will be telling me theres gay male dancers on Broadway...OOOH Noooo!! Hes a great artist in his own right.
For the record, and all you "Johnny Three Word" pusscakes out here in YouTube...
Mr. Carpenter is a true virtuoso, and a genius in his interpretation of music. If Virgil Fox were alive he would probably hail Mr. Carpenter as the future of the art. My only contention rests in seeing him in "drag". But, to each, his own. His choice of dress is quite apart from his artistry and craft. Personally, he can do as he wishes. I would not dress in that manner. But I'll be damned if I won't wear a kilt.
@dieselheart001 I think the attire is part of the performance and artistry. Breaking more boundaries. I saw a pic of him dressed as a vintage jazz musician (feather in hat) sitting at the organ. Takes someone who knows the rules to break them. Either he has a very dry sense of humor or he is just eccentric and wants to make a statement. Either way, its good for classical music and the organ.
@organman52 How so "sick"? Step up to the plate, and explain your assessment of this, succinctly. What about being a genius or a virtuoso, is "sick"? Be very specific.
@dieselheart001 I do not take orders from you - or anyone. If you can't see and hear how dreadful this is, than all the explanations in the world will not change you.
@organman52 That wasn't an order, you moron. You just responded to a direct question posed to you.
The audio is dreadful- I'll attest to that. What else about this video is? You haven't answered my question.
Most likely because you are afraid to. Or just don't know how to.
Start with why you think this is dreadful. Address that. It's OK. You're probably working through some latent issues here, and are just beginning to identify with your own sexuality.
@organman52 Still on the defensive, I see. Go your way in peace. Khalil Gibran spoke of people like you, in his work "The Prophet". Return to your small, bitter world. You'll be safe there. There you will "laugh, but not all of your laughter; and cry, but not all of your tears." I wish to expend no further effort to ask what you refuse to answer. You truly aren't worth it.
Sean Connery's character "Rodriguez" from "Highlander II" offers an applicable goodbye:
@Regor2010 Use more than three words. Or I'll wonder about your intellect and vocabulary. And whether or not your gene pool needs drained and backfilled. Take your time... sit up straight and use your "big boy" voice. Don't mumble- everyone will think you're retarded. We don't want that confirmed any more than it is, now do we?
I'm waiting. Don't disappoint me. Concentrate and try, but not too hard- you're out of diapers, son.
@Regor2010 Oh... another one. How cute. At least wendel6 was ahead of you with his pathetic little bleat. Apparently you can't do any better or deal with anything outside of your useless narcissistic little fraction of mindset. Do yourself and the world a kindness, child. Reduce your carbon footprint- go back into your closet, and die. Honesty is something all of you happy little fudgepackers can whine and preen for, but can't deal with when you get it.
@wendel6 That's the FIRST time I have seen Mr. Carpenter in drag, and I stated what I thought of it. If you can't deal with that, or participating in an open comment section like this, you are excused to adjust your narrow-minded insignificant little self, if that indeed is possible, and your mental capacity allows so great a measure. So, I return your advice- grow up, son. This world is bigger than you, and it doesn't revolve around you.
Oh my, I could just see Ms Carpenter playing the organ in 6" stiletto's. Darlin' you are just too hot for that gown although I gotta say you fill it out just rightly.
6:20 haha tranny powa! lol, but he can play realy good

@organman52 Gee, sir... was that an ORDER? There is a lot of anger in you...
It must be difficult coming to terms with this. You are effectively unable to speak
anything out coherently- fear has you bound. Rather than answering a simple
request to clarify your stance, you are displacing your frustration over your issue
with this. That's OK- you're not hurting me with your words. You can't. But you can
continue to hurt yourself by denying that there is a problem. Be strong. Speak out.
