Thank you for downloading! Best Film. Hello from Russia! We played basketball in a small town in Siberia. The first time I watched this film in 1995, and every year trying to find Arthur and William in the lists of players in the NBA. But the reality of life has been more severe. Only with the advent of the internet I found out about the fate of heroes. Good luck to them all!
Watched a tv programme tonite which highlighted the 50 greatest documentaries of all time. Hoop Dreams was no. 1. I agree 100% it was amazing. Overcoming difference & diversities is just the beginning & boy as there a lot of that to overcome. Those boys had the love of their families which had to help. Anyway amazing!
this was a great film..i enjoyed it because there were many real life lessons to be learned from these two stories..the odds are against black men but at least this film showed that if you have a dream that nothing and no one cam stop you from reaching that dream...thank God
William had an irrational coach. What kind of sense does it make to punish William for being late to a game when he wasn't the one driving? It's not like he drove himself there late. His brother was right. That wasn't the time for the coach to be teaching lessons.
Amazing film ! u get so much inspire from this movie , even if u dont play basketball yourself. Such a stunning movie ! Can't describe with words how beatiful the movie really is..
absolutely superb documentary -many thanks for the upload, even though I'm a boxing fan, this film beat even the best of the boxing documentaries. Inspiring story and even more inspiring people and scenes, cheers
I remember watching Hoop Dreams as a junior in high school in spring 1995. The film is very well put together and imo, it's one of the best documentaries ever made. At three hours length, Hoop Dreams was one of the few films that I watched that didn't bored me. In fact, the film is so riveting that after watching from start to finish, you never knew three hours had gone by.
@OceanWave78 I felt exactly the same mate - the time just flew by -- and I could've easily enjoyed even more. This one was up there with Dark Days and The Devil and Daniel Johnston as far as quality documentaries go
