  • I find leveling in that sunken shinra transport plane at the bottom on the ocean is the best place for leveling. On average you'll get 1200 exp per fight. With 3000 being the highest. Yea you'll need to be rather high and won't be accessible until disk 2, though.

  • what does attack % do raise your chance to hit?

  • Attack % is indeed accuracy. This is dependent pretty much exclusively on the weapon. Status effects like blind and fury will offset this.

  • what does defense % do for the weapons stats and stuff i don't get it i have had the game since it came out but still don't get it

  • Defense % is evasion. If you max out dexterity from morphing an enemy called "poodler", defense % really gets high, to 64 if I recall. Enemies have a hard time hitting with that.

  • um this may be a stupid question but what does vitality do?

  • It reduces damage from physical attacks, though it's not very significant. It's considerable, however, when you raise it a significant amount, but still not very much.

  • you...have...alot...of....materia next thing you know yuffie steals it all LOL

  • She actually doesn't steal it all when you've got tons of it. I was left with a lot of materia, about half.

  • OMFG 8K damage with the runeblade?! that's epic!

  • Once you get enough power sources from morphing an enemy in Gongaga village called "heavy tank", available as soon as you complete the "temple of the ancients" event, any weapon in the game can do damage like that. Once strength is maxed, it doesn't matter. The same goes for vitality, allowing you to focus far more on available materia slots than defense.

  • Gongaga is were Zack is from (The 1 that gave Cloud the Buster Sword). The Buster Sword was originally from Angeal (Zack's Mentor) Which angeal got from his father

so it goes from Angeal's Father - Angeal - Zack - Cloud

  • sorry bro i tried it but im almost done with cd1 and everyone has allmost level 85! but this place isnt good enough! do u kno a better one! cuz i wanna level up everybody to 99 until i switch to CD 2!! HELLPPP PLEASEEE

  • The only thing better than this is halfway through disk 2. The next better one after that is the left path in the final dungeon (be sure to get the W-item materia).

  • @ulillillia

what and were is this W-Materia

  • W-item is found on the final return trip to Midgar near the end of disk 2. When you get on the area where the train tracks are, head a long way toward the camera in the scene. After a while, you'll run into a yellow materia at the back - that's W-item which allows you to use 2 items at once. However, there's a bug that allows you to infinitely duplicate items, such as megalixirs or elixirs. This same path leads to the Shin-ra building as well for Cait Sith's ultimate weapon.

  • What were you using to make you stay in berserk even before battle started?

  • If I recall, it's the fury ring, bought in Gongaga. It's 10,000 gil each and is especially useful from levels 40 and beyond or you've maxed out your strength stat from morphing "heavy tank".

  • @ulillillia Thank you dude

  • Comment removed

  • how are you attacking when you have limits ready

  • Berserk - normal attacks are forced. This, combined with the fact very little intereaction is needed makes the sixth leveling ground the best in the game.

  • the spot right after the sleeping forest before you go into city of the ancients, you get higher exp and ap, but it's not as easy to just go on auto pilot mode, then again i like playing the game, not letting it play for me ;)

  • what is the best place to level up in... well the whole game?

  • The fastest is the left route in the final area. You'll need to exploit the W-item glitch for infinite elixirs and use the magic pots for 8000 exp a piece. Don't have W-item materia? The forest around Mideel is the next best - be sure to have immunity to sleep though.

  • @reviewmaster007

I always fought the headhunters in the medieel area, one beta and they are toast.

  • u r a mug, u should morph the spirals, they give u guard sources

  • I do, but at the point where I'm at in the story when I did this, I don't have the "morph" materia, simply because I haven't yet visited the place the contains it.

  • where do you get fury rings?

  • Gongaga village, if I recall.

  • Final weapons shouldn't be used that much anyway.

Since they have no materia growth it's best just to use them for boss fights.

  • Or, in my case, the final boss. Even then, I don't bother using ultimate weapons anyway since they do no good outside a slight accuracy improvement - max out strength from morphing "heavy tank" hundreds of times and even the game-starting weapons are just as effective as the second-best weapon in terms of damage, but they suffer from few materia slots and lower accuracy. Thus, for weapons, I focus primarily on materia slots and growth. It's why I use Cid's Javelin - 5 double growth slots.

  • seriously how long did this take you =D you ledgend

  • It could be done in as little as 40 hours - just rush the story until you gain access to the Tiny Bronco then go to the area near Mideel and grind to level 99. Then again, using the Junon alarm method (available once you obtain the buggy), you'll be able to reach level 99 even earlier though I'm totally unsure how fast it would be.

  • @jon3s3yladd It does not take long maybe a week of training and you will have all you want! I've beat this game well over 30 times i know every glitch, every training spot, every little secret.

  • Where's clouds ultimate weapon?

  • I got the Barret's final weapon, but it is around 500dmg.

    Why? ._.

  • Level, strength, and row affect damage. A level 99 character with a low strength will likely do more damage than a level 30 character with strength maxed out. Back row without "long range" materia or a long range weapon (Barret is prone to them, though he does have some short range weapons) will cut physical damage in half on both sides (magic damage is unaffected).

  • @ulillillia Yeah, I understand now. Thanks!! :)

  • @ulillillia because barrets ultimate weapoin depend os how much mp he has...

  • @Adana180109 no, barrets final weapon depends on how much ap you have equiped to it, so its best to have all mastered materia equiped to it for the most damage

  • Wow I didn't know you already covered FF7 great vids man.

  • Can you get "All" materia somewhere after Sec 7 is destroyed? ._.

  • The beginner's area, for tutorial stuff, and the one after the visit to Nibelheim (you'll have to take the right chute, knocking the ladder down before taking them) are the only 2 I directly recall.

  • @ulillillia

There's also an "all" available in the shinra building where you open the doors and recieve coupons... I've never figured out how to get it, though.

  • I've gotten all 3 of those coupons. Here's a hint: the computer tells you not to go somewhere - go there anyway and you'd be quite surprised.

  • @Dhazard1989 yeah of course, if my knowledge is correct... you can find some in the great glacier. and also you can find one in the old reactor

  • @DingoCrash Cool, thanks! :D

  • If you rubberband your controller in the right way while having free camera and removing all materia that give you and extra command (with turbo controller and maxxed final skill with Phoenix summon) you don't even have to sit near the television. You'll run in circles and turbo will ensure you rarely ever chose anything else. If your turbo sucks, you'll either defend or change. Equip maxxed counters with defend direction chosen and you'll counter almost everytime. Won't die, little babysitting

  • @stonythegreat and how about healing?

  • i find it easier just to fight the magic pots especially with W-Item you hit level 99 in no time at all and master materia within a few fights.

  • Magic pots are worth 8000 exp and 1000 AP a piece and I do use them. I've never been past disk 1 without someone being on level 99. The seventh leveling ground, of which I don't have a video for, is the forest around Mideel, accessible as soon as you get the Highwind. The eighth leveling ground is the final area where the magic pots are and I have a video for this - "fastest gil". I get 100 million gil in 2 hours with this method.

  • @ulillillia that makes the game way to easy you end up beating the rest of the game in 2 hours whats the point that takes the fun out for me

  • I found it quite entertaining as well. Plus, I can more quickly and easily focus on the story as well. FF7's story is one of the few I like.

  • @AI2AM i would like to level up and do everything at disc 3 cause its short i will make it longer for me more fun to

  • @ulillillia dig in the bone place and find the key card to midgar then go to sector 6 a think its called and go to thetent were the gun shoots at u n breaks if u want tifas ultimate weapon

  • vids decent quality

    nice work

  • And what level do you have to be to start leveling up there. If I'm too low level won't I die rather quickly? lol

  • With sadness status, it'll be significantly easier. If you use the back row for everyone, it'll be even easier, but can take longer, making back row useful for very low levels. The enemies do about 400 damage; this can be reduced to about 150 with sadness and back row. If you can keep cure-type spells casting away (and life when needed), you could actually do this at a level as low as perhaps 15. If you use sea worm instead, it's doable on level 6 with this setup.

  • @ulillillia I have no more quest XD. The junon alarm area its like the second best place to level up can you grind there your very first time entering junon (When you save the girl from the serpent boss)?

  • I've been told you need to at least reach Costa Del Sol in order to use the Junon alarm method. From what others have told me, it's about as fast as my fifth and sixth leveling areas, but it's much earlier (before my fourth leveling ground which is much further away than my third one (which isn't a good one)). I haven't done any testing with it so I can't say how fast and/or easy it really is (exp per minute), but testing it is easy enough.

  • @ulillillia I tested out that junon alarm place it is really good. I went from level 30 to level 60 in roughly 5 hours so it is a good place. At 60 I'm going to play until I get the bronco then go to your 6th leveling ground and level to 80.

  • You can stop at whatever level you feel like. The sixth leveling ground is probably just as fast, maybe a little slower or faster, but it comes with a big bonus - it's lame. You can almost just watch TV (on another TV set) or play chess/checkers, etc. with someone while doing it as little interaction is required (mainly to heal and get through battle conclusion menus, along with holding "up" to get a random battle after one).

  • @Nickthelich

Nah its after you do the mt. corel job. when u first get to junon, the guy will tell u to get lost, and when you get to costa del sol, the guy in the white suit by the boat will tell u they won't be leaving for a while. but after you get through the whole corel prison thing, you can head back on the boat as a stowaway. My advice is to just get to about level 25, by the time u finish corel prison, and then head back. its an awesome place to level up. Just be careful at first...

  • @Nickthelich

... it can be quite tricky for the first few levels, u'll have to keep a good look at it and have many a cures at the ready. that said, u fly through the levels. :)

  • Right but how do i dig there?

  • Just got clouds Yuffies and Cids Ulimate weapons :D ... I need to get Tiffas.. But am RIGHT at the end and can i still get to the place where tiffas ultimate weapon is? :/

  • I think Tifa's ultimate is in Nibelheim, but don't count on 40% certainty. I don't use ultimate weapons in FF7 because they have no materia growth.

  • @ulillillia you really got to 98 in disk one? Can you tell me where that island is exactly I've found trouble locating it.

  • @Vampiremayor666 Tifa's ultimate weapon is in Midgar, at Wall....Street? can't remember the second word of the place, but it's in the "item" shop that's broken. the place that has the machine gun in it that shoots at you when you try to click on the counter.

  • Oh, I'm thinking of Tifa's ultimate limit break, with the piano. I've never been able to get that item shop thing to work, even though I can get into Midgar (hint: you dig there).

  • tifas ultimate is called Premium Heart.

U can get it in the wall market on the shop that has a gun on top and a broken computer(the weapon is in the computer).

the key to this sector can only be digged in boneyard while digging for a " Normal Treasure"

  • @Vampiremayor666 tifa is in wall market the broken machine from the item shop on cd 3

  • @Vampiremayor666 You know I got Tiffas ultimate weapon and I don't know if it's a glitch or a programming fail but her ultimate weapon is sooo much weaker than her last two weapons

  • Where is this island exatcly?

  • It's where Mideel is. I don't exactly recall, but I believe its in the southwest part of the world.

  • where do i get a fury ring

  • I don't exactly recall, but I'm fairly certain it's in Gongaga. I'm 88% certain on it, below my standard of 95%, but still decent (I feel as if I have an 88% chance of being correct).

  • can i do this on my emulator version of ff7? I'm on disk 2 and cloud has just recovered from mako poisoning

  • Is it possible to access the mideel mainland at this point?

  • Not that I'm aware of. You'll have to get the Highwind in order to do it, but that's clear until halfway through disk 2.

  • once you fully master cure are you able to cure the group you have cuase i am onbe away from mastering it

  • Mastered restore materia has the same properties at level 4 - you can only target one character or enemy (the latter is only useful if the enemy is undead). Reaching level 5 (mastery) causes you to get a a brand new "restore" materia with 0 total AP, as if you bought it from a store, only it doesn't cost you any gil. For easy gil, mastering "all" materia is the fastest way to get gil.

  • thank you

  • I know this is a bit old, however, when you sell your All Materia... Can you get any of it back or is it gone forever? Cause I remember that you can't really buy all materia.

  • You can buy alls from Fort Condor late in the game. However, once sold, it's gone for good. However, when you master materia (reach the highest level (5 for all)), you'll get a brand new one with 0 AP on it. Just sell the mastered all and level up the new ones to maximum level and repeat. The 40:1 gil:AP ratio is the best in the game (28:1 is the next best with 70:3 being third)). A battle in the forest around Mideel can net about 550,000 gil like this, in a sense.

  • you cant reach this spot whilst still on disc 1 to get to lvl 99 lol. and when you learn a new limit you must open menu called Limit, and change them over to progress every time, choose Set, and then Level 2. :)

  • You can reach this spot on disk 1. You won't be able to enter the town of Mideel, but you can go to the island - you'll need the Tiny Bronco for it (obtained after completing the Rocket Town events). In order to get the level 4 limit, you'll need both the item and all limits of levels 1, 2, and 3 to get it.

  • please tell me ive been looking for almost a hour like a retard lol

  • in the menu where you can save and check materia etc ust go to where it says Limit, there you can set the levels on each player. very simple

  • yea i know found out yesterday lol

    thanks though

  • okay you seem to be answering questions so I'm gonna ask this here; ive trying googling and nowhere it specifies how to actually get your level 2 limit breaks

perhaps im stupid but heres the problem

    lets take barret for example

i got the two level 1 limit breaks (bigshot and mindbreak)

when i finished a random battle, it said i gained grenade bomb (which means 80 kills with him aka level 2 limit break)

but i just don't know how to use it..

  • You need to set the limit level higher. I don't remember how you do it, but there's an option that allows you to set your limit level higher or lower.

  • @SmokeIsDaMan

go to the menu and like look where it says limit and click it and click barret and then it gives you 2 options to "set" or "check" click set and go to limit 2 and bam

  • I had this same problem when I first played the game. When you get the message saying Grenade bomb achieved simply go to the menu and locate an option called "Limit". Simply press OK button while your cursor is on it and there are two options: Set and Check. Select the Set and choose the Limit Level 2 and you can see Grenade bomb there. And then agree with the Limit gauge restarts blablabla and there you have it! Now just wait for the Limit gauge to fill and use your new limit break! -Kuro

  • This is exactly where I go to train up at the same point, I found it myself I just saw this vid and it said 6th lvlin area, and I thought "I wonder if that is that place I go when I play this game" and it was.

  • There are 8 leveling grounds in this game. The sixth is the best for quite a long time - you'll have to wait until you get the Highwind before the seventh leveling ground is available (the forest around Mideel) and the eighth is that of the game's final destination (the left path when the path splits in two).

  • im on disc2 and im killing weapon rite now and my lvl is 40 plus only and i need a good training spot .

im not used killing boss wen cloud isnt around

  • This area is very good for gaining levels quickly and at level 40, you should gain a level within about 5 or 6 minutes. If you have the Highwind, then use the forest around Mideel (my seventh (of 8) leveling ground) instead, since you'll average about 2400 experience per battle here where level 40 is cleared in only about 3 or 4 minutes, if that.

  • My cloud has omnislash but he says dont get it and I have limit level 12 and 3 the thing is on limit level two i just have blade beem help me

  • In order for a character to get his/her level 4 limit, you'll need to have all of the character's other limits. This means both of Cloud's level 1, level 2, and level 3 limits (totaling 6). Cait Sith and Vincent seem to be oddballs though - Cait Sith only goes to level 2 and Vincent only has 1 limit in each group. Have that character defeat 80 enemies to get the next higher limit level and, within a given limit level, use it 8 times to get the second in the group. Fury helps with this.

  • Hey this was very helpfull I really do appriciate it keep up the good work:)

  • Very nice video, I've currently got Cloud at level 99 but the others are about level 83. Nearing the end with about 80 hours. You're much quicker than I am on this run, nice work :3

  • You could possibly have level 99 within just 40 hours on the clock - rush the game until you get the Tiny Bronco then go here to train to level 99.

  • where is this? o.o'

  • In disc 1, there's an area inside of Junon (after taking the elevator up) where some soldiers are training. On the wall will be a switch. Hit the switch, and you'll trigger high-level enemy encounters via an alarm. I trained here during the part where Cloud solos after taking the dolphin up, and got to level 50 pretty quick. Add double growth accessories into the mix, and put an All materia in it's slot. Master it. Now sell it. You gain about 1.5 million gil. Fast EXP, fast gil, fast AP. Disc 1.

  • and lol

  • i´m playing solo barret and you can master 7 or 8 hp plus. you can use it with ultima weapon-sprint shoes 255 strength lv 9-10 cloud with over 6000 hp vs emerald/ruby weapon :D i promise you it´s funny!!!

  • If you'd lvl up Aerith, feel free to do this... =P

  • What is the best place in the game to level up, I imagine its in the final crater but any particular place?

  • I have 8 leveling grounds in this game, 6 are covered by videos, one indirectly. When you get the Tiny Bronco, and until you have access to the Highwind, the sixth leveling ground is the best for a long while. Once you have the Highwind and are only on disk 2, the forest around Mideel where my sixth leveling ground is is the best. On disk 3, take the left path when the path splits for the eighth leveling ground (seen in my "fastest gil" video).

  • If i bought this game off psn its the full game right? No need for 3 seperate discs correct

  • @H3llraise

I don't have a PS3 but as far as I know you get the whole thing in one.

  • Allright much appreciated then

  • it is the full game, and it gets you to change virtual discs when it needs to, it explains how to do it

  • if you buy it on the PSN then you get the whole 3 discs... when you need to change discs you just press the menu button and select the "change disc" option

  • yeah the game has the three discs programed in it

  • Yes, it is the whole game :) i bought it and finished it after a week :P i'm a huuuuuuuuge FF fan ..;)

  • its the full game

  • i had all my party lv 92 here and cloud had max strength on disk 1

  • youre insane =P

  • Is Aeris over level 90, just like the whole party in Disc 1?

  • At this point in the game, Aeris is no longer available in the party - you cannot add her.

  • so if i level up like this sephyroth will be easy for me? or would it still be a chaleng?

  • It'll help because you'll be doing more damage to him with each hit, since level likely factors into the damage calculation (I don't know the formula - it's too complicated, made so due to the randomization used (which appears to be about 5 or 6%).

  • nope he has like 250000 hp if ur lvl 99 0r 98 and he hits a lot higher then normal... the higher level u are the strong he is

  • YOU DONT SHOW THE MAP!

you shood do it to know exactly were it is

    -.-

  • Truly amazing dude. This was cool and a great help. I will surely be trying this. 

  • You'll need to be patient. On average, expect to spend about 30 hours doing this. Since it's a lame leveling ground, requiring little interaction, you could practically do Sudoku puzzles, watch TV (on a separate TV though), even do homework. That's the nice thing about this spot.

  • Hey man-

All your vids are awesome and I've thoroughly enjoyed watching them however, I don't have the time to spend 30 to 40 hours leveling up. Whew!

  • I'm not saying you have to - that's your decision. The video is meant as a "how to". Still, however, it's an excellent place to level before getting the Highwind.

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe I will, who knows. One silly obvious question, I'm on disk two and have acquired the highwind, is this still a viable area to level up?

  • If you have the Highwind, the best place after this (the seventh leveling ground) is the forest around Mideel. It's only about 40% faster but it's still faster. Be sure to have protection against sleep though.... The sixth leveling ground (in this video) is the best available for a long time.

  • now i want to play this game again lol

  • how much gil do u want? u trying 2 get an operation or somthing?

  • At the time I recorded this video, I was after both impressing those who watch the video, and attempting to break my old record of 1.3 billion gil. Yes, that's billion with the B. I get over 1.4 billion (seen in the chocobo race).

  • thanks i got it now

  • wher did u get all the hp plus and enemy lure materia. i only have one hp plus

  • Cosmo Canyon has HP plus and MP plus. Enemy lure comes from Gold Saucer's battle arena. By mastering materia, you get duplicates (which can sell for a lot of gil - use alls for this).

  • um right outside mideel, in the woods area, i get like 2100 to like 2400 exp a battle...

  • You can't access that forest with the Tiny Bronco. This is still disk 1 ya know.

  • lol, i just realized that... :b

  • thanx for the advice i´m 77 and just about to finish the game (just before fighting sephiroth), this area near mideel is better than the one under the ocean in the shinra´s airplane

  • no problem, i did it for my old game.

  • I am quite sure it is not! You can raise levels fast if you fight the monsters in the area that rude and reno appears under the ocean in the shinra´s airplane !

  • It may appear that you get more experience, but you also have to factor in how long it takes to get that experience. I'd rather be getting 1200 EXP in a 20-second battle than 3000 EXP in a 60-second battle. The duration is the time between the start of a battle and the start of the next.

  • So you basically just keep 3 of each materia?

  • I focus on alls all the way through. Until I can buy alls (Fort Condor late in disk 2, if I recall), I use exit which has the next highest return ratio, slightly more than half.

  • I tried this until I was at level 50 and it got so repetitive and boring that i said "you know what? Screw this."

  • If you have another nearby TV, you can watch it while you're doing this. You don't need much at all in the way of interaction, which is why you can watch TV. You'll only need the occasional cure spell and the swapping of mastered materia.

  • Hey erm to fight the Thingy on the Cargo ship When sephrioth Pops out of the floor whats the best team to have because i cant seem to beat it (btw im lvl 15)

  • nvm ive done it xD :)

  • you son't have to play the others to lvl up with them:) they lvl up automaticilly when cloud goes one lvl up! but it takes longer time if you don't use them;P

  • If the main party gains 1600 EXP in a battle, the others gain 800 EXP, half. By the time I reach level 99, the others are at 81 or so.

  • oh...

  • i level there in disc 1 before going to temple of the ancients

  • how do you organize your materia like that?

  • What do you mean by "organize"? It makes no difference how it is arranged in your slots. If you're referring to the list, there's a sort feature (I don't recall where - it's been over a year since I last played this game....

  • well when you go to items, it can have them "arranged" so i assumed their was a same function for materia but i never saw it, i was wondering how you got your materia to be organized like that, so everything thats the same is in the same spot.

  • As I rethink it, go to the materia menu and select "arrange" on the left side of the weapon/armor. It was in that area. It's all I recall.

  • aight ill try that, if it doesnt work then ill figure it out.

but thanks again for your help, keep making videos :D

  • what does that mean. "leveling area"

  • A "leveling ground" as I call them are areas where you can quickly and easily level up, quickly more importantly. FF7 has 8 key areas. 6 are posted directly. The seventh is the forest around Mideel (inaccessible until disk 2) and the eighth is the area where you also get the fastest gil (I have a video of this area).

  • where do you get fury bangles?

  • Gongaga. I think they're 10,000 gil a piece.

  • aight cool, and where exactly on the map are you? O.o

  • Can't you see the dot? This is where Mideel is, only in the area in which the Tiny Bronco can access.

  • well no i couldn't, that's why i asked...

    but thanks :D

  • the funny thing is about this game is my dad was playing it when it came out and i was amazed how complicated it was (i was about 6 then). now im 14 and just have now got the urge to play it just because its a great game, screw graphics....it was a ps1 game. this game was the best back then and is a classic (ps, nice vid, 5/5)

  • I FREAKIN LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah that is impressive but I don't see the point of doing it, its a MASSIVE waist of time and by being this level already it makes the game redundent

  • You can watch TV while you're doing this. While I recorded this, I was, if I recall, watching Morning Express on HLN.... Plus, this way, all battles will be much easier and you can focus on the story more closely, without having to bother with enemies and battles.

  • yeah but wouldn't you recommend doing this on a second playthrough, cuz if you did this on a first playthrough there would be no challenge

  • go fight the weapons then

  • At the time, they weren't even out yet. This is disk 1 ya know. In terms of the story, I just got the Tiny Bronco and I needed to enter the Temple of the Ancients. Aeris was still playable.

  • Ummm....why do you put cloud in the back row?

  • No one is in the back row. In fact, I practically never use the back row because I don't think about using it.

  • How much can exit be sold for?
