  • Great blues tune.

  • Oh my god !!!!! You like Poppa Chubby. I have nothing to tell you if you like Poppa Chubby, he is the biggest insult against the blues. So farewell dude, stay where you are, far away, very far away from me. I going to Kiss Albert King the greatest electric blues guitarist who ever lived. Farewell man, you are not in the blues... One last thing, I love Otis, because he is unique in the blues.

  • I am from France. I guess you hate the french, I hate them myself. But you're maybe right when you say I am from an other planet. I love the beautiful things and the beautiful people : in their mind, that's why I love so much the Bluesmen. I lost my two parents when I was a child and the blues means a lot of things for me : Lowell Fulson, Lonnie Johnson, Fenton Robinson, Lafayette Leake, Champion Jack Dupree, T-Bone Walker, Fred Below, Willie Dixon, etc

  • Explain, what do you mean ? I am not english, so your expressions in english doesn't mean anything for me. Explain.

  • You don't know anything about the blues. This blues isn't ok, it's great. That's all.

  • @mortimerdf

    = : >

    (it's "o.k".. not great)

  • what album is this from?

  • @MrTonequest This song comes from the CD : Any Place I'm Going , i believe it's from 1998 .

  • Great!!!!!

  • You're right, Otis isn't often great (unhappilly) but this one is great. If you want to know some others great Otis Rush, ask me, and I will tell you what to choose. Bye.

  • Southpaw Bluesman are blessed with that X factor that u can't learn ,u have to have it in you.Really love this tune.

  • That's mean shit baby!! That is real music. Pure emotion!! I can listen to this all day.

  • is good

  • you r wrong

  • this is a pic of Bo Diddley not Otis

  • @misko1961

Sory to tell you but this isn't Bo Diddley , it's Otis Rush ...

  • Orinigal man

  • thumbs up!

  • great blues!!

  • Albert King and Otis Rush are the fathers of electric blues!!!

  • @JaysalP Don't forget BB and Freddy my man! Lonnie Mack too. Peace and long live the blues!

  • @kj677 The fathers of the electric blues ? BB King, yes. Fredy King, no (even if I like him) and Lonnie Mack, a blues father ? : certainly not. That's all.

  • @bluesloverfr Check your blues history my friend. While the radio was filled with surf music and wanker pop, it was Lonnie Mack who was keeping the blues alive on the radio (late '50s early '60s). Just giving credit where it's due brother. You don't have to dig'em but facts are facts. Lonnie Mack is often forgotten, but a main influence for many like SRV, etc. Peace!

  • Do you know what I don't like in the Blues : the people who talk about the blues, they do some mistake all the time, they don't know anything about this music, they just talk too much. I am more than a Blues purist, I love the Blues. Lonnie Mack, it's really superficial, everyone knows his history (SRV, ...). Also, the real fathers of the electric blues guitar is Lonnie Johnson and T-Bone Walker, and certainly not Lonnie Mack. Happilly !!

  • @bluesloverfr OK... fathers of modern electric blues (down and dirty, not jazzy)!! The guys who inspired modern players to keep the music form alive. You know what I don't like about blues..the purists (wankers) who are intent on not giving modern bluesmen their due and try to destroy the greatest music form on the planet!! I love this music form as well my friend. There are reasons it is still alive, it aint purists! Peace,I am done! This is rich, a frenchman teaching us the blues! Piss off!

  • You know what, I agree with you when you say the purist are some wankers, that's exaxctly what I am thinking (branleurs : in french). That's why I don't like them, I am a blues lover, much more than a blues purist. If there is something I really know in this world, that's the blues. The blues deserves love, nothing else. People who listen the blues, with competition have nothing to do with this sublime music. So, I agree with you in this point.

  • For me except Lonnie and T-Bone, the others real fathers of the electric blues guitar are : B.B and Albert King (my idol for the electric blues guitar). Beside them, Buddy, (Otis : sometimes), Fenton Robinson, Luther Allison, Freddie King and the others ... : all of them, it's after. Also, there is so many others great blues guitarist and so many other great blues album.

  • But without talking about the guitarist, the REAL father of the electric blues, that's Muddy, who went in Chicago to see one of his idol (Big Bill Bronzy) he went in Chicago with his rural blues from Clarksdale (there is also, the Wolf, Elmore James, Hooker, ..., ...)

  • I love the old time blues, I love the modern Blues, I love every kind of blues : that's why I just love the perfect blues, nothing but the perfect Blues, in every kind of Blues. If you don't know anything about the blues (and my knowledge about this blues) don't say anything, leave the real Blues lovers, with the beautiful Blues. Also, it's not only the Blues I love, I love the Bluesmen, I just love them ! Bye !!

  • @bluesloverfr I see you have had other disagreements with other people on this site. Stop it! You don't need to try and outdo anyone with your love for the blues. We are all blues fans, otherwise why would be here checking out Otis Rush. C'mon man, your insults are idiotic. You don't know me, and your attitude would change if you did I'm sure. Peace.

  • No man I didn't have other disagreement with some other people on this site. You know what, you have been playing for 25 years, that doesn't anything. Do you know poppa Chubby ? I am sure you love this guy. This guy is dirty and doesn't respect the blues, the blues is a clean music. You know what, it's the first time I am talking with someone on this site, why ? Because of the mistake.

  • @bluesloverfr Now you are insulting Poppa Chubby and me. Just stop buddy. You don't know either one of us. It should matter to you that we play blues to keep it alive but I think you are missing your own point. It's all about love, passion and expression. Don't bother answering this cause I won't read it.Maybe one day you will see me play and you can talk about how bad I am too.Your opinion doesn't matter, you've made no contribution other than spitting off names and putting people down.peace

  • As I said to John Hammond : keep the blues alive, but the perfect blues, not this disgusting music, like Poppa Chubby, he has he has no class, absolutely not. Albert King has so much class, Stevie too. Fenton Robinson on his aligator album in 1974 also. There are so many bluesmen who are excellent, so much.

  • And finally, everyone has the right to play the music they want, but please, when it is shit, real shit, please : these people have no right to call their music, blues - It is anything but the blues - I can not stand that people come to insult, this sublime music, deep, intelligent. Thanks to Albert King, B.B, Luther, Buddy, and all the other in the acoustic Blues, the pianist, the harpist; I want to tell them thank you for what you have done

  • Farewell man, good luck.

  • Oh I forgot, I never insult you, never. You did it, with me - so do not confuse ! One last thing. Otis album has made only a few albums, and some are disappointing. But I like him a lot Otis Rush, why? Because of him, the man he is. Also, when his albums are beautiful and well produced, well then, he is one of the best bluesmen all styles together, and all the time.

  • I told you, you have been playing for 25 years, that doesn' mean anything : Poppa Chubby has been playing much longer than you, and he's doing some shit. He is an insult for the Blues. Champion Jack Dupre, Lil' son Jackson, T-Bone, Lonnie (Johnson), Lafayette Leake, Fred Below, ..., ...., ...., are so beautiful, them.

  • I told you, I am cool man, but, but ... Most of the time, the blues fan are stupid, and disqpointing. I give you an example: I went to see John Lee Hooker on stage a few years ago. He made one hour and fifteen minutes on stage, it was beautiful, her gigantic voice, his presence, his face, everything was wonderful. Well at the end of the concert I heard people complained that the concert was too short. They didn't understand anything.

  • You know what, I just realized I was too kind with you in my last messages when I am reading yours. I am french (you know what I hate the french) you are american, I guess. So, for for you, when someone isn't american, he shouldn't love the Blues, and especially don't know the blues better than you. If I take you point of vue : I will say something else, I guess you are white, not black, so don't listen the Blues.

  • The Blues is everything for me, everything. Muddy, John Lee Hooker were like some fathers for me. I won't explain to you why, you won't understand. You don't understand anything about this music - leave the blues alone, the blues doesn't need you. The blues need Love, that's all : do you understand what that means, the blues need Love, that's all.

  • @bluesloverfr The blues doesn't need me... I've been playing (professionally) nothing but the blues for over 25 years. You really should not assume that everyone is unknowledgeable about this great music. I was put off by your degrading comment toward Lonnie Mack is all. You won't teach me anything I guarantee you, but I'm sure we can both enjoy this stuff together. Who knows, we may have already! Peace, Love, and Grooviness!!

  • @kj677 sorry...and the great late Magic Sam and Stevie Ray Vaughan also!!!!!

  • @JaysalP Amen brother!

  • @kj677 And Muddy Waters!Blues on fellas:)

  • @JaysalP jimi hendrix*

  • @JaysalP - Albert (my idol of the Blues guitar) : Albert King and Otis Rush are not all the fathers of the electric blues. The great and unique Lonnie Johnson, and T-Bone Walker are the fathers of the electric blues guitar. Also, if I take your expression : the father of the electric blues : that's Muddy (my other idol) he took the blues from the delta, and went in Chicago for see one of his idol : the great Blues poet Big Bill Bronzy. That's all.

  • You love Albert King and Otis Rush : that means you a sensitive and a nice person. Albert and Otis have a big class. Have a nice day.

  • @JaysalP and they bloth played with their guitar strings upside down!

  • Otis can bend those strings, can't he?

Listening to Otis sing made me think of the differences between Albert's voice and Otis' voice.

    Fine post! Thanks!

  • I think that him and Jesse Johnson from "the time", the best players as Alber King did. great

  • As simpel as this!

    What do you need?

Swedish: Gåshud ända upp i rectum..

  • @MrAlbertBlues HAHAHA
