Haha beast ring :D Seriously great video, the only place i really have problems hitting artificial harmonics is the low E string, the 3rd fret on that string tends to be the one that most metal bands use (the ones that play in Drop D anyway). I know it's massively overused but there a couple Lamb of God songs that require it!

see i know my modes alright but i dont understand how to use them. like all the modes can be derived in the key from the major scale of the key just starting on a different point on the scale. is there a youtube video you know of or something that can clarify some things?

Thanks Nuhunte I appreciate that! My style is a mix of Southern Rock and dobro slide technique, all played out through my three favourite modes Dorian, Lydian and Miolydian. I made a concious effort to creat my own sound so I am glad that you have picked up on that :-)

I've been wanting a Les Paul, but I tried a PRS Custom 22 for the first time and it killed the Les Paul in tone, feel, and versatility. Would you say the overall neck feels different from a 22 and a 24? I think they are the same scale length. And what about the CE 24?

I actually just made a video on this subject a few hours ago, before I even saw this one! I haven't watched this one, Mr. Chappers, but the method I use is by simultaneously creating an artificial harmonic AND fretting the note, with the SAME finger, at the SAME time. I hear this method isn't common with guitarists and that it's usually done by people who play bowed instruments because they don't have a pick or other method to create any kind of "attack." Let me know what you think.
