Not trying to be a know it all, but I always leave 3/4 of an inch on the back side of the skull, and then put car bondo under before I attach the screws. This works really well.
I tried to watch 2 of your videos, I can't hardly hear them, only one side of my head set comes in on your video, in another words it isn't sterio. I don't mean to be critical but I thought you should know. Blessings.
Your clay bill must be quite pricey! Take an ice pick or other pointy object and jab holes through the hide at the air pocket and the air exits the tiny holes you made, but the holes wont be seen. Its easier to add chopped fiberglass cloth to your bondo mix to make it like peanut butter. That way you can shape the ear easier and it holds the shape and in the end is stronger.
@winsorsadventures That is because that is NOT how you clay in deer eyes. Sadly, people think that this is qualtiy taxidermy. It may have been 30 years ago, but definately is not today
I dam sure enjoyed the video but only one side of my head phones had audio to and the sound was behind about 23 seconds good job I like it

@bayliner4life Buy a video made professionally from a taxidermy supply catalog. This isnt the best example.
