most of the music on the weather channel and other related stations are done by obscure musicians that are not available commercially. it's basically in-house music done just for these channels.

Dude yes. A few years ago they would come to a section of the music cycle where it'd be nothing but the awesome music from whoever this is and I freakin loved it. I emailed the weather channel to try to find out the artist but never got anywhere, the artists they gave me I had never even heard before lol. I eventually just resorted to recording it all on vhs. Then I lost the tape =(
