it really isn't modern...none of her videos labeled 'modern' actually are...I...suppose...it could be lyrical..? in any case, the technique during her 'fall' certainly isn't the correct technique for a traditional modern fall which is a quick sequential lowering of the body to the floor via contraction, (and should be SILENT). Ah well...expert village isn't exactly known for it's accuracy

I understand that this says "beginners" or whatever but this is not modern, call it beginning lyrical or something cause if its modern then where are the contractions, the body placement, or the technique. I'm not saying that she's a horrible dancer (although I DO think this movement is very late 80s early 90s) I'm just saying it's not modern at least not traditional graham style

I agree.And as far as I could see it, there was no cunningham in it either, and since that are the two most common modern dance techniques, I would say that this was just labled 'Modern Dance for beginners' to give it a name, because real modern dance is way too hard to learn by doing a combination. The first year or so should be al about the technique, and after that (when you've reached the state in which you know the basics) you should start focussing in combos. but that's just my opinion ;)
