Am I the only one who hates this scene?! This is so not Gilmore Girls as I know it. I hate the way the camera is moving, I hate the sudden cuts and the different atmospheres. This is just awful and I can't see where there should be something to laugh about. And it is definitely so far away from the best scene of the show.

It's certainly hard to select only one best scene from GG. There is a lot of absolutely perfect moments through the whole show. But yea.... This one has got something special. The cut is fantastic and the dialogues and acting of the persons summarizes nature of this great series. When somebody says Gilmore girls, I most often remember this scene. Thanks for it!

I became a faithful fan after Emily confronted Shira in "We've Got Magic To Do". In this episode she repeats that converstion to Rory and Lorelei, I giggle with them. This is the best family dinner table scene EVER!

For those of you who are wondering, the candid angles are there to capture the energy at the table. It was mentioned once on a behind-the-scenes thing once that the director wanted flowing camera scenes for the town to represent how much positive energy there is in Stars Hollow, and that the Friday dinners had very still camera changes was because it lacked happiness and screamed awkwardness. I guess you could apply the same basic principle to this particular scene, too, only vice versa.
