My #1 go to softsynth. Honestly, if there was one VST I had to choose to keep and get rid of the rest, I'd keep this one. So versatile, and sounds amazing.

so I've been making songs using cakewalk sonar 7 and various free VSTi's since about christmas. However, I'm getting sick of the low quality I get from the free ones (although i suppose its only fair.) Would it be worth it to shell out $200 for something like this, or is it not worth it for someone of my current skill level?

(I know a lot about music theory in general).

The Virus is a lot beefier in many respects, but considering what you're paying, you really can't go wrong with Sylenth1. Absolute killer.

Ehm...the controls, the layout, the modulation matrix, the oscillators, the filters and the effects? I'm no Sylenth1 freak, but not realizing the difference between this and Synth1 just means you're being oblivious.

I bought it during "group buy" on its home page. Althought it doesn't do everything as others, its sound is incredibly rich. It's on the top of my choice when I just want to have some fun playing and tweaking. I even made a sound where you can go crazy just by holding one key, using aftertouch, pitchbender, tweaking knobs, using arpeggiator, etc.. Wild!!

I've been playing with the demo for about a month nos and I'm so conflicted. It seems somewhat limited, ie no hard-sync,no way to modulate the pulse width, ect.

But on the other hand, What it does, it does so well. Super simple to program, really useful phaser effect and the arpeggiator is reason enough to buy this.

I want to buy this but the price is a little steep, I wish they'd drop the price by 25%.

Maybe a discount if you can speak their native language? :)

Ok, so I've been playing with it for about a day now...

This synth is BOSS. Every preset is KUH_WAL-IT-EE and every patch you program yourself turns out golden, as well. I prefer this to Native Instruments Massive. Yeah, I said it. There's just something about the overall warmth of this one...HIGHLY recommended.
