I've noticed a lot of Christians use this song, I don't know why. Honestly, I find the lyrics of this song vague and not glorifying to God. This song is rich in musicality but not in exaltation of Who God really is. It is almost indistinguishable from an idolatrous secular romantic music . I had a huge domain of ccm before but after studying ccm for a long time, I've come to the conclusion that ccms are not comparable to classic Christian songs which are really full of truths of who God is.
@ephphatha12 I agree with you that if this song was written about a romantic relationship it would be idolatrous... but it wasn't, it was written (by Jason Wade) about Jesus Christ.
As far as whether or not the song is glorifying to God, I can only say that, for me, the song is a beautiful picture of God coming to me while I was lost and in darkness, leading me to Jesus Christ, in Whom I find "peace, strength, hope, light, purpose, EVERYTHING". I know that leads me to worship and glorify God. :)
