It's astounding to really witness Kurt becoming this legend. I remember when he was alive the MTV Awards when he was like "don't believe everything you read' Man he was a big star in such a short period of time - you young kids don't understand but Kurt went from being in an average underground band to #1worldwide in a year Nevermind was selling like 50, 000 copies a week in December 1991 that's insane.They didn't just get popular they changed popular world culture!
@halifuckinfan its considered lo-fi when you dont make it sound crystal clear and super professional nirvana was good at being lofi but sounding really good
@blaa757 They were good at spending only 600someodd dollars to produce ALL of Bleach. You get what you pay for, it wasn't that kurt wanted you to strain to hear what he was saying, it was that he was broke a lot. It wasn't a preplanned bullshit "we're keeping it real" marketing move. That is what most "low fidelity" recording is today. Honestly though Bleach sounds CRYSTAL clear for what they paid for.
seriously .. the silvester party was lame and boring so i put the bleach record on and everyone danced around like fucked. negative creep is insane when you play it with a big stereo system.
@MrsKoffer lol when did nirvana ever make a bad song.. Like honestly, if you listen to like all the unreleased stuff and demos and whatever, most of its catchy, excellent or just good. I think there's only like one song i dont like and i dont even remember the name of it. Kurt really did come up with amazing melodies and riffs.

@c3789 It was palatable enough for a mainstream audiance. Bleach is more raw and emotional.
That said all Nirvana albums are amazing, I just find the low budget raw feel of Bleach to be more "real"
