  • i dislike this for a good reason too...SOMEBODY SAVE THESE OLD GREAT AWESOME CLASSICS!!!

  • this old guy is setting a million dollars and dont even know it

  • i think i sick im going to bed and will likely have night mares for the rest of my life knowing that these went to the crusher!!!!!!!! what a shame

  • you know how had finding a part for old cars these days? with this cash for clunckers bullshit...

    what a DAM shame!

  • Omg so sad what they did to these cars n let them rot

  • if you really were scraping them why the hell would you not save one or two for a demo derby those old boats would make a great derby then once thier beat to hell crush them.

  • It's Alan Jackson - Mercury Blues, not Bruce Springsteen

  • I had a 1939 Chrysler I tried to sell for $300 for nearly 2 years to keep it from getting crushed. I bet everybody that called me or looked at it had more money than me but it was "too rough" etc. Finally a guy showed up with a $100 bill and a story about restoring it. Best offer I got in two years so he got it. I bet he took it straight to the scrap yard and sold it for around $250 just like I should have done. People need money, if you want to save them go out spend the money.

  • love the blue panel van with the bob marley sticker and the peace sign. Looks like my kinda van to restore!

  • if these were really crushed your going to hell ass hole

  • AS TO THE VIDEO MAKER,YOU COULD OFFER TO MARKET AND ADVERTISE YOUR OWN ON SITE AUCTION VIA HEMMINGS,NET//,YOUD SAVE THE CARS, HELP THE MAN ,AND MAKE ALOT OF MONEY!!!,YOU DONT HAVE TO BE LICENSED TO AUCTION ....THINK ABOUT IT...

  • We're merely stewards of these classics, that once gone, will never return. To destroy this history for a few bucks, is unforgivable. We preserve old buildings, I wish there were some incentives to preserve these old cars.

  • Cameraman had one of those cars bought new as 18 year old and now 70 years later has Alzheimer...

  • please do not crush these beautiful peices of metal:( im 15 and would like to buy a real car someday

  • оператору руки бы оторвать...

  • I want the property and the cars

  • that cadillac at 0:54 was sold for about $10,000 new

  • yea were is this place at ?

  • Idiot, don't crush them!

  • where is this place with all the nice cars?

  • Were all of the cars and trucks going to be crushed? or just the bad ones?

  • The damn scrap industry is taking away old american classics. With rising scrap prices and people that don't know the value of old cars, classics are becoming harder to find.Join the fight to save old cars!

  • Wow! Bruce Springsteen sure sounds funny! YeeHaw!!

  • it is a gold crater!!

  • could you give me one of that cars?

  • Thanks for the vid

  • WHERE IS THIS MAGICAL PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Zoom back a little. Your up to close. From the best I could tell crushing what I could see would be crazy. A bunch of these are restorable. Some have some very hard to find parts. One from the best I could tell was from the 40's and still had the tail lights in it. Chrome and all. That's extremely hard to find. I know people out here that would give their eye teeth for a set of original tail lights.

  • Is it weird that I have the urge to cry a little?

  • i would buy the hearse at 6:30 because i love all cadi's, even the ones that had better days.

  • @pistolierer Yeah and not to mention the rarest car among all those mostly parts cars. Good song choices too!

  • Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • i'll give some off them a good home ;-) i'm trying to find nice american claasics for a while now, but everything i come by is really overprized :(

  • that cadillac at 0:53 has not a bit of rust on it... i wonder why its in that yard. i'd go find an '85 rocket engine and drop it in that car, just to have it sitting in my garage.

  • I'll make an effort to see if I can find this yard again. It would be interesting to see what's still there. The Junk yard guy was pretty old and didn't look too healthy. Sometimes what happens is any relatives tend to want to bulldoze the land and try to sell the property. When they do that, they can be really uneducated about potential value of all these cool american wheels

  • I know this video is old... but if the guy hasn't crushed these all off he could hire an auction service and make 3 times more than he would crushing them crushing them.

  • you yanks have got no idea at all have you

  • They should of held an auction like they did at the yard in Switzerland, that way they get something for the cars and the one stipulation:the new owner hauls the car away. Im sure some of these cars would attract a buyer.

  • nice one

  • what a shame! most of these cars where actually in pretty good shape!

    ?

  • I had almost watched the whole video and was glad I didn't see any 50's Nash, but then came 7:29... FUUUUUUUUCK

  • This is insane. There are some real classics there that can be worth a lot of money to someone with the time and knowledge to restore them. Where are these vehicles located ???

  • where are they at

  • I don't like to see old classics go to the crusher, but guys:....If people want these, then make an effort to scoop them up. You can't reasonable expect someone to collect them, preserve them and hold them for 30 or 40 years waiting that maybe some collector will want the exact cars that they have. If you want them saved, then buy them with your own money.

  • At the time of posting, scarap steel is $200 Ausd per tonne. One could give this bloke a check for $200.00 per cars and transport them to a cleanup yard and ship them to OZ and sell them for much more. At least here they will get restored.

  • Yo Americans are crazy. You will never see this quality again. Most of these cars could have been sold for much more than scrap.

  • Dear Lord God,

    You hate waste.

Destroying those cars is waste to our civilization and culture.

I pray to you, Dear God, that anyone who would destroy those cars, without resurrectecting its parts on another car, will watch his children die a slow and horrible death to cancer, for those cars are worth more than that person and his offspring combined.

    Amen.

    Have a nice day.

  • a lot of good rat rod projects!

  • I agree with every response given from the many viewers of this video. I apologize for the poor quality of the video. I only had a flip video camera and found it difficult to shoot while crawling through branches and vines. I am not crsher. I am merely a heart felt observer like you. The root cause of their demise is the current salvage price of steel.( bring $5 to 7 hundred ea.) The salvage yard owner has no other income and little knowledge of any global internet sales or marketing potential

  • Sad. Just sad. Real american cars getting taken over by the japs. People worked hard for these cars back then! now we treat them like trash. Those car are meant to last.

  • YOU CRUSHED THESE?! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR DAMN MIND?! THANKS FOR MAKING IT A LITTLE HARDER FOR ME, AND THOUSANDS OF OTHER ENTHUSIASTS TO RESTORE A GREAT AMERICAN CLASSIC SOME DAY! THEY DON'T MAKE EM LIKE THEY USED TO YOU DAMN MORON!

  • @badgerbuddy

    Stop being such a tit.

  • 0:49 im not sure what it is but its beautiful and in great looking condition

  • 6:06 no jeezus, no peace

  • Why doesn't anybody save these. If you can't get them back to pristine condition, at least just get them running again.

  • Subject matter = Fantastic

    Music = Absolutely brilliant

    Camera work = Mostly shit

  • THEY COULD WELL GO TO THE CRUSHER, THE JUNKERS THAT RUN THE CRUSHERS ARE SOME OF THE STUPIDEST ASS HOLES ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH

  • kinda symbolic of where America has gone..

  • what an incredible magical wonderland of old Detroit iron.

I doubt any of these are going to the crusher, that place looks long abandoned.

  • wtf yankee iron what a waste l see plenty of rat rods in the making an some cool ass sleds

  • Omg that Fury...rare...

  • What a waste of American pride.

  • i'm going to DESTROY the person that crushed these. unacceptable.

  • the Caddy @51 seconds is sweet !!! . it is totally restorable .

  • dude the car at 0:47 look in teriffic shape what dumbass would put that there

  • I do like old cars like these above..but thing is most of these have seen there life and probably had an good one at it too..SOME of the cars above COULD be restored..its just finding the right person who is willing to do so. Rust.In. Pieces.

  • Some pretty rare stuff there, hope some of them got saved, or at least parts went to save others.

For some strange reason I'm attracted to that '60 Plymouth wagon...

  • That 59 fury :(

  • where at? still available?

  • Mercury Blues By Alan Jackson........

  • who are you kidding ...there NOT crushing any of these cars !!!! trust me !!

  • God Save America! If they wanna crush cars like these, they're goin down the tube!

  • It is such a shame there are so many cool cars going (or gone) to waist in this yard: Buicks, Studebakers, Cadillacs, Chevys, Fords, Dodges, etc.

If I could buy anything from that yard, I'd go for the Caddy at 0:47 that should be a 1956 I love it! or the Ford Bronco that can be seen on the left in min 6:02

it would be so much nicer to see any of these old girls back on the streets rather than those ugly Hyundai Atos & Toyota Yaris among others

  • What bugs me is around where I live, people try to sell a rusted classic for $2000, then when they cant sell it they send it to the junkyard where they get $100.

  • What a sad waste.

  • Should be selling them to people for 300 dollars each!!!!

  • want the yellow caddy that is beautiful! want the herse too!

  • I want the beige coloured Cadillac at 0.50secs

  • This is a sin!!!!!! They could all be brought back to life! Anyone here in the North East would love to have any one of those solid bodies! We have nothing but rusted out hulks here and kill ourselves trying to resurrect them!

  • this is disgusting

  • Marvellous, thank's for France !!!

  • such a damn shame that all these classics are crushed,, if i had enough money id buy all of them in a heartbeat

  • crush them

  • Some car in this video look like they have potential to drive again, and some cars can still be used for parts.

    Many cars are still complete.

But the 30`s - 40`s cars look very rusty.

    Nice junkyard.

  • no wonder why old cars that are restored cost so much because a dum people i am trying to get some of these old cars to save them from going to the crushers

  • part them out.. make a killing.

  • I believe your video showed the past beauty of cars in the USA many will never be built again its sad.

But could you please tell me who was the singer of the second song called Country Fair.

Its a great song to I loved the song,

I would be greatful to you if you could let me know who the song was by .

  • you cant really mean that you will crush these????

put the cars on ebay and get 10 times more than the steel price

people who wreck cars like these who could be restored or donor cars should be shot in the balls!

  • well yesterday my dollar was as strong as urs, eat shit usa! no wonder they crushin em, daddy needs some new teeth! well maybe if you quit bangin your neighbours wife - went to work and brushed your teeth - maybe that yoke'll kid nx door wouldnt have knocked 10 types of shit out your sorry asses! RESTORE THESE CARS YOU FOOLS!!!! or u just gonna drink away ur heritage hoping some queer family member will paint or photograph it? fat chances! ur beyond inbreeds!!! HAHAHAHAA

  • That very first car looks like the one Lucy and Micky drove in the movie "The Long Long Trailer"

  • ya!!!!

  • most of these cars are in restoreable condition. you would probably make more money selling them as they are then crushing them. plus you would keep a classic car alive.

  • There is a small fortune in these cars sell trim and hubcaps and of the sort on ebay

  • Another yard fill of cars not-for-sale? (And finally goes to the crusher when the owner die)

  • *sob* YOU SICK FUCK!!!!*sob**sob**bwaaahaahaha*...

  • me and my dad are currently restoring a 1964 ford econoline. its blue and when i saw 6:02 i almost cried. :(

  • yo there's plenty of people looking for an old car like these to restore, and your just gonna crush some rare classic cars? Thats wrong.

  • Think how much of this that could been sold to persons that would restored them??

  • Not all that is getting scrapped is it?

  • where is this place? Seriously. I would take the yellow caddy shown at .54

  • give me a meal a day and a bed and i will spend my life fixing those beauties...

  • @pencid I'll help bro no problem just get me my own cot and let me walkaway with a fury in 20 years n we all good!

  • ya if someone with some smarts and time had these rigs decent money could be made selling parts. I personally could make a killing on ebay!!! its shameful to see these true classic vehicles wasted. Autos of today suck and have no character or sustainable value....

  • there's maybe a million dollars worth of hard to find parts in there and they crush them for 40 dollars something wrong here sad

  • why dont u be nice and tell us what state and town and the owners name and number in alabama u dont have to have a title pree 75

  • 6:39 sweet front clip

  • OMG lot of these cars can one more time take the road ! OMG my heart is broken !

  • where are these at i want 90% of em they should be fixed and put in a museam not crushed its so not fair

  • What a sin to see all those cars go to the crusher. Lots of body parts, fenders, hoods, doors. Original glass, door handles, the name badges. They are sitting on a fortune.

  • Those of the Kaufdorf yard in Switzerland were sold in a auction a month ago. 2/3 of the cars found a new owner, almost US cars, part of them built under license in Switzerland like Pontiacs and Camaros. The few remaining are for sale for a while but will crushed or are already crushed.

  • Seriously if a heap of people had the time and effort, they could rebuild most of these cars!

  • the old cars and trucks were built so much better and had more character and good looks than any cars today. Not to mention built right here in the good ol usa by americans who cared about the quality of work. its kinda sad to see them all wasting away. I have great respect for those who preserve and restore them.

  • why would you crush these?ppl are fuckin crazy!

  • Why the #$(*&#%%#!! would you not advertise these cars on craigslist, classic car enthusiast Internet Forums, and the newspaper! Don't send them to the crusher!!!

  • this peaple is not love history

  • The Ford Falcon is a nice car

  • Sure that they'll end in the crusher ? Well in Switzerland they're about to crush about 60 or more classic cars found in a yard if they don't find a new owner until the end of this year. I come from Luxembourg and old cars don't get crushed if you keep them at home in a garage. It must be older than 25 years to be considered as a classic car or "Youngtimer". I like this old iron, if you love your car history, preserve them at home, don't let them rest in a yard :) Good luck and have faith :)

  • the ww2 JEEP!!!!!!!!!

  • why dont you restore them????????

  • Was the very first car the same from the movie "long long trailer" with Desi Arnez and Lucy??? Lol that was a strong car!!!

  • Well, were any saved?

  • Peopkle that crush restorable classic American should be punished. Brutally punished. How could you sleep knowing you helped destroy America's history?

  • You can't!

  • That Cadillac looked nicer than mine! I sure hope some went on to be restored.

  • where is this junk yard?

  • This is disgraceful! Why crush a great metal American car from the '50s when crappy plastic American cars are still on the roads?

  • what kind of jackass would crush all those nice cars? this sucks.

  • yea kinda makes you sick dont it? me 2 :(

  • when scrap went up last year, junk yards crushed everything. My boss at the time was crushing stuff as soon as he got the salvage certificate.

  • jesus what a waste never seen so mutch waste of machinery like the usa just desgusting

  • They were all someones pride and joy at some time in there working life, |A lot of good restoration projects here, Would be good to see them back in the condition they were in,.! In there nostalgia days, I could spend days Scranning around in this place ...!!!.."Like a pig in shit.".lol

  • yeah the scrap yard near me that i junk my cars at has a bunch of old shit, like old schoolbusses and trucks...much like the yard ur in...

  • dude, I can use that 1950s cadillac, its in great condition why would anyone scrap that????? losers with no sense!!!!!

  • The only reason the parts for the newer cars are "worth more" , not even worth more,,, COST MORE, cause u pay the inition manufacturing cost to pay Union workers over time and double time. parts are still crap,, just cost more!

  • good comment, vientoman, Its true what you said, yes the older cars were valuable for the steel, so in that aspect their worth something. But on the other hand the newer vehicles are worth more then the older ones, for example an altenator for an old chev, is worth $40 bucks, buy that altenator for a new chev ur lookin' at $1200 bucks. Then the bodies of the newer vehicles are worth nothing, and the steel bodies of the older vehicles are worth a lot more per ton, so where do u draw the line?

  • For all practical purposes, cars coming out of the stamping machines today are disposable. Unfortunately, the older "collectibles" stand a greater chance of going to the crusher because they were actually built using large amounts of valuable steel. Crunch a new car and your mainly left with a noxious mess of complex polymers and stuff that is better off in landfills. There are, however,a few scavengers who eek a living out of providing bits and pieces of newer cars in yards here and there.

  • its possible some teens owned some, got rid of them for something newer, like many people do today. own a car get 2 years out of it deal it back in, eventually somewhere down the road it will end up in a field like these old clunkers did. also maybe the person owned the car and died, or went off to war, some god for saken, reason. plus back then 50's 60's they I'm guessing not as pushy to scrap those oldies, like they do today, if u needed a part chances are u can find them in those old clunkers

  • I agree. That's the sad part about what is happening all over the country with thousands and thousands or really cool old cars. Very few people visit these old junk yards any more so gradually they loose their income stream. Then, the only way to put food on their tables is to sell them for scrap metal prices because it takes extraordinary effort to match a car with a buyer. The only hope is to buy the whole yard, post them for sale individually on the net. Perhaps that could work.

  • none of those cars deserve to be crushed, not even the hippie van

  • you should stop bullying innocent amaerican teens like me

  • I'm not sure if it's possible to destroy a car crusher......I think they get stronger with every car laid to waste. Incidentally, I don't own these cars, they are all owned by an elderly man who can't really get any grocery money from them.....Matching up a potentially collectible old car with the right person who is looking for a project at the right time is difficult to for a fellow. Scraping a hunk of 1950 Detroit steel puts groceries on his table.

  • if a American teen used one it is vrery very very very highly possible

  • Here is an idea! Does anyone have any videos of a car compactor being destroyed?

  • Come on Just sell the cars do not crush them. WHAT A WASTE!

  • American teens probaly owned them or been in them at one point.

to bad american teens do this to cars

  • I am sure that's not why they are being crushed.

  • well as everyone knows most common reason for a car being scrapeed is it is junk or of corse that means a american teen used it

  • Well you are shit facing your self? Your 16( a teenager).

I do not know maybe some were owned teens.

But is very very very unlikey that all of them were owned by teens.

  • thare is some good cars :)

  • Where is this yard located?

Would love to save some of these autos!

  • my point exactly!!!! I composed this video because I wasn't too happy to see these cool cars go to the crusher myself. It's not me who's doing it, it's the owner of the "junk" yard. so. figure about a thousand cars at $300 bucks worth of steel. that's $300,000.oo bucks. If you wanted to offer this guy say $400,000.00 for the lot, then you could easily tripple your money by setting up a web page and selling them to collectors. If I had an extra half mill, it would be a reasonable venture.

  • why would u crush some nice collectable cars like that dude u could of got like alot of money because people would like some of those cars unlike u calling them junk and then there going to the crusher dude people would bu them because they are some hot cars in this video !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In this instance, the guy who is sending this stuff to be melted down is the owner of the yard. Over the years, cars have become disposable."junk" yards like this are things of the past. Now, when a car breaks you just buy a new one. Metal prices are such that unless a person has a way of marketing cars to individuals willing to take them on as projects, it's easier just to take the $300 you can get for just the metal in them. In this case, the grumpy, greedy grown up is to blame.not the teens

  • obviosly in the USA

thoughtless people destroying collectable cars and most likly teens caused this

  • sitting on a gold mine and don't even know it sell them for what ever u can get out of them .. damn what a shame

  • where did you find all of these?
