yes that is a marron, yes there is a diference between marron and yabbies, no it is not lobsters inbred cousin, they are freshwater crayfish, crawddad? ignorant yank more like it.Just wondering if vid poster let it go or cooked it up? since you from netherlands i assume you didnt get a license so i hope you let it go. Good sized one anyway, hopefully i'll get a few that size this season. And yes, they are delicous
@carebearnmbr46 i think yabbies are a pest where marron are native. marron is a fresh water crayfish, and they will walk from farmers dams to nearby creeks and brooks
@RappersHQ You're the idiot dipshit, they are not the same, marron grow way bigger for starters, you should google things before you open your hole as only shit comes out, shitlips
Actually its more than likely a Koonac since they are the darker of the 4 species. Marron are a mid brown and Yabbies a light brown... in general.
Unfortunetly its hard to tell how many keels it has on its head (4 for a Koonac, 5 for Marron and Yabbies). Koonacs also have broader, rounder claws and taste the best out of the 3 with just plain white vinegar :P
Sorry, very late reply; but I was in WA at that time (but I live in the Netherlands / am not even Australian, as you cna probably tell by the accent)...
Well what's really the difference between a yabbie, a marron, and a crawdad; they pretty much look the same to me except for the coloring. I'm pretty sure you can boil and eat all three kinds. So, anybody out there know what the real difference is and tell me about them? Thanks.
Well, I am far from an expert, but the Marron have longish/slender claws + are usually quite a lot bigger, whereas Yabbies are smaller and have claws that are more rounded. I have never seen a crawdad though (other than on pictures), so I wouldn't be able to tell you anything about it...
Thank you, LOVELYAUSTRALIA, for your comment on the difference between marrons and yabbies. I hope to someday visit "Lovely Australia" and find out for m'self.
omg lucky
