Also vipers had turbo which brought them to a high fraction of lightspeed so I think thats what their going for though it certainly looked like a BOP warp. Top notch graphics, which they would do more with BSG in the gaming world.
Its a good game, graphics, voice acting, story (from what I've played) but the campaign is difficult for me, this game would be better on PC where I can use a Joystick and a Virtual cockpit to sit in and shoot them down!

Guys this game was done i have it for xbox it was even made back compatable for 36 and is actually fun i'm stuck on a part where you fly a cylon raider.
this is old school battlestar galactica it follows the rules of the original series. this game takes place before the new series. also ryders are the names of the ships that the cylons fly hanse cylon ryders.
It's based off the original television series ..... that's what the original cylon ships looked like. The original series never had FTL capabilities either.
Take the time to watch at least the very first episode, just to realize the differences. You'll hate it because you apparenlty became a fan based on the second generation show .... but it's really cool how they incorporated all the original characters, ships, plots, and ideas into the new series.
The aerobatics and thruster pack maneoruvering of the Vipers is superb and taken from the remade series. A Battlestar using thrusters to turn and face the intended direction is acceptable. Yes they dont need to to jump, but if they have enough intel to know which vertical axis they wish to appar at so as to bring weapons to bare, or proteced viper launches on the starboard vector could all well be taken into account.

No it wasn't ! The game was created before the remake, in fact, before the remake series was aired, they used some of this (game trailer footage) as a trailer for the remake series.

HORRIBLE, what made the BSG series good was the realistic physics of the space flight. this is just pure bullsh*t! You dont need to tilt your ship in order to turn just use the horizontal thrusters. video animated like they are flying on earth with air beneath their wings.
I actually theroughly enjoyed this game, although it would have been alot more enjoyable if I had a flight stick controller. Or if the game had a better multi-player system and community. But oh well, I degress... The story itself was very entertaining in that borrowed more from the orignall series aswell the re-imagined books of the 80's that had the decency to decannonize Galactica 1980. But I guess more than anything else it brings me back to more memorable moments of childhood 50/5
very hard game, i am lucky enough to have a copy...but they only made a limited number of these.....so if you don't have a copy, it may be hard to find one.....that is what i have heard, something like 100 of them were made, then the rest were scrapped(before started).....i'm not 100% sure on that though...
Game had a wondeful concept I agree tho who ever dreamed it up was too hard on the diffuculty when I test played it. I am die hard fan of the orginal series. I can't believe the SCIFI trashing of the show it is so disgraceful. they should give Richard Hatch the chance and allow the 2nd coming be known to all. Raiders always had FTL .... Kara used FTL on raider to go get Athena's arrow on Caprica... plus, Raiders often appeared on Dradis radar in the serie mate. Raptors have FTL too... but i don't remember seing a Viper jumping tho.

Well to be fair, I'm not a gaming person, don't own an Xbox or playstation or anything like that, but I am a huge Battelstar Galactica fan. If the game was actually like this it would superb and I would brush up on my viper piloting skills; however I am told this is just a promo vid and the game is actually a bit more "gameish" than this. Since the game uses the MK2 fighters from Hatch's "Second Coming" project, the Cylon Raiders from TOS and the music and sfx from TOS I wish they didn't change the intro speech to conform with the new show.
Hmmm, I can see how the sound effects is appealing, I love it too, however the image and notion that current creators have gone for is realism. there is no sound in space and the only sound you can hear is how gunfire would sound from with inside the cockpit, a dull machine gun fire sound.
The action fighter music for viper dogfights is also great, but I feel that probably remains in the past now with the "children's" version of BSG.
It would be great if they could combine these elements into the new one without compromising on standards and realism, but I'm not sure its possible.
One write up reports that BSG is not a show for entertainment, it is not filmed that way, they wanted to portray it as if you were watching it from a news report or a documentary.
the 'warp speed' effect in this is brillent, much better than Star Trek; it's a pity it wasn't used on the show.

but I always loved this trailer for several reasons for one they kept the original score from the show.
The Graphics are awesome for the trailer I don't think the game is all that though sad to say thats a dissapointment
